I think I am tired :-) We enjoyed a great five day week of learning, playing and growing together! The transition back to school requires a healthy dose of time spent on procedures, routines, expectations, as well as building and reestablishing relationships. We are so grateful that we have had this time together to work on these important tasks so that we can take the next step on our journey. A school can be defined as an institution for the teaching of children. While we will continue to practice the proper way to wash our hands and which dot to stand on as we leave the Cafe, the weeks ahead will also be filled with teaching and learning! This work includes delving into the strengths of each individual student and developing carefully considered plans for their continued growth. Our teachers are EXCITED for the opportunity to delve into their content as they strive to fill the hearts and minds of their students with knowledge, wisdom and a love for learning. We hope that you are able to join us for our UPCOMING BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHTS where we will share information related to what your child will be learning this year and how we will accomplish these goals. PLEASE NOTE these sessions are virtual as we are still limiting in person gatherings within the building. You will receive a ZOOM link from your child's grade level teacher prior to your session to allow you to join the session. What is your family motto- spoken or unspoken? Friends may come and go, but Family should always be there...

If you had a warning label, what would it say? I am not your maid, Pick up after yourself! (I have teenagers lol)

Who was your favorite teacher in school and why? Mr. O’Donnelly, he cared about his students.

What is your favorite family tradition? White elephant game at Christmas, as a family (siblings) sponsoring a family in need.

If you had to describe yourself as an animal, which one would it be? White Polar Bear. Like a polar bear, I enjoy swimming, nap, have fun and pretty laid back.

~One of Conway Beckemeier's (8th grade) nurses from Children's and a founder of Camp Rhythm (summer camp for kids with serious heart conditions) is currently in ICU battling Covid (day 6). Please keep our beloved Charlotte in your prayers. Last update they were trying the plasma. Her husband is also ill, but stable enough to be home.

~Please pray for Hayden Fitzpatrick (PK4) and her family. Her Papa is going through a lot right now. In the very near future he will need to have surgery to remove a lump they found on his kidney, and then also he will need to have open heart surgery. They are all very nervous and emotional about this, but they also know that God has a plan and they will just need to trust in Him. Everyone, please lift him up in prayer!

Saint Charles Borromeo has COUNTLESS ways for families to become involved in our community. Every PARENT is an honorary member of our Home and School organization. This organization, as well as our School Board and Athletic Association are often seeking new members to serve as Board Members and / or heads of various committees. As these roles become available we will share additional details with everyone. This year is an AUCTION YEAR which also means countless additional ways to get involved with this event. We need to be able to properly staff BASK. Due to Covid, we have limited spots due to our staffing. It is VERY important to sign up as early as possible. Please try to avoid signing up the day of, but we do know that there are times that it can't be avoided.

BASK is available on Sept 4. Please pack a lunch for your child/ren. We will NOT provide lunch.

Please send any changes or correspondence related to BASK to bask@borromeoschool.com. This email is accessible by all BASK supervisors. Additionally, please drop a note to this email address if someone other than the typical pick up person is picking up. This helps us keep track of dismissal changes and keeps our kids safe.

****As a reminder, we prefer you pay with a check. If you need to pay with cash please contact the main office to discuss the process this year, as it needs to be adjusted due to Covid. Do NOT hand cash to the BASK workers, they do not have a place to lock it up.

The BASK Staff

For now, these are the ways that you can put money on your shared family lunch account. Due to Covid, we would prefer not to handle checks or Cash. We would prefer that you use Paypal, but you will be charged a fee unless you mark them as a "friend" or "personal". I am not sure exactly what it says, but do not choose them as a business otherwise you will be charged a fee. The fee will not show up until it is entered into the lunch account. If you give FSC $20 as a business, the fee will be taken out and the remainder will be added to your account. AS ALWAYS, PLEASE PUT YOUR STUDENTS NAME IN THE MEMO!!!! It is very difficult to add money to an account especially if the PayPal account name doesn't match a name at our school.

1) Send in a check made out to FSC with the students names in the memo

2) PREFERRED METHOD: Use PayPal (make them a "friend") and put into account fsccafe@borromeoschool.com Be sure to put students name in the memo

3) Send in cash. Put in a sealed envelope with students name(s) clearly marked.
