Licensed Staff - Column Changes
Column changes have been approved for the 2024-25 school year. Please follow this link to fill out the to Review Directions and Submit Column Change Application:
- Please remember that you are required to provide the supporting transcripts and/or documentation for a column change. All college/university transcripts must be official. They can be copies but must be official. If you are submitting a transcript for a Master's degree, please be sure that the confer date is on the transcript.
- Your column change application (and supporting documentation) must be submitted no later than September 1, 2024 to be considered for a column change. You will receive a status update as soon as the submission has been reviewed.
- Once your column change has been approved, you will receive an email notifying you, a new 2024-2025 contract will not be re-issued. All column and pay adjustments will be made in the District’s HR/Payroll system and will be reflected in your September paycheck, if applicable.

Licensed Staff Stipend Opportunities
National Board Certification Stipend (page 21 of MOU):
- Licensed Employees (Teachers and Special Service Providers) who receive a national certification/license in a specialized discipline may receive a $500 annual stipend during the validity of the certificate/license if they meet the following criteria:
- Certification/License must be in addition to the teacher’s current Colorado Professional Teacher License.
- Certification/License is not a requirement for receiving a Colorado Professional Teacher License.
- Certification/License is recognized by other states as a valid/transferable certification/license.
- Certification/License must be authorized to receive a stipend by the Thompson Teacher Negotiations process.
- Certification/Licensure must be from a program that requires:
- Three years of teaching experience prior to applying.
- Proof of outside hours while in the program.
- A portfolio of work while in the program, and
- Written assessments.
- Proof of a teacher’s National Board Certification/License must be presented to Human Resources by September 1 of each year in order to receive the $500 stipend.
ASHA Stipend: Certification for Speech Language Pathologists (page 21 of MOU)
- Speech Language Pathologists who receive a Certificate of Clinical Competency (CCC) from the American Speech Language and Hearing Association (ASHA) may receive a $225 annual stipend during the validity of the certificate if they meet the following criteria:
- Certification must be in addition to the teacher’s current Colorado Professional Teacher License.
- Certification is not a requirement for receiving a Colorado Professional Teacher License.
- Certification is recognized by other states as a valid/transferable certification.
- Certification must be authorized to receive a stipend by the Thompson Teacher Negotiations process.
- Proof of the current Certificate of Clinical Competency must be presented to Human Resources by September 1 of each year in order to receive the $225 stipend.
Performance Management Incentive -PMI (MOU 13-5)
Teachers may participate in performance management incentive (PMI) with single year basic compensation above the teachers' salary schedules. The continuation of PMI from non-reserve funds will be a function of Human Resources. For the school year a minimum amount of $150,000 will be available for PMI.
- In addition to the teacher's salary schedule and extra duty salary schedule in Article 13, teachers may participate in performance management in which additional compensation is earned and paid on single year basis at the conclusion of the year in which it was earned.
- All teachers receiving an overall effective or highly effective final evaluation are eligible to participate in the performance management incentive (PMI) program in the following year.
- Payouts to PMI participants will be in June and will be reported as salary for PERA purposes.
- The identified PMI criteria can be found on the district's staff portal.

Changes in Human Resources
We have had several staff changes over the summer. See who's new:
- Rose Cortorreal is our new Substitute Technician. Rose comes from Pennsylvania and brings her experience in higher education to TSD. You can reach Rose at extension 5005 or rose.cortorreal@tsd.org
- Becky Cooley is our new half-time Human Resources Technician. Becky comes to HR from TVHS where she spent 7 years as the counseling secretary and registrar. Becky's extension is 5082 or becky.cooley@tsd.org
- Toby King is our new Professional Development Coordinator. Toby comes to HR with a wide array of experience with Colorado Department of Education (CDE). You can reach Toby at extension 5781 or toby.king@tsd.org
- Amanda Pommerening is our afternoon receptionist. Amanda splits her time between HR and Learning Services where she's in Student Records. Amanda can be reached at extension 5001 or amanda.pommerening@tsd.org
- Priscilla Hernandez is our new Benefits/Leaves Specialist. Priscilla has been with TSD for 13 years in various roles at MVHS and TVHS, her most recent as the Substitute Technician in HR. You can reach Priscilla at extension 5774 or priscilla.hernandez@tsd.org

EXTRA DUTY contracts (if applicable) – Athletic and activity contracts will be between September 1st and September 15th and will continue through May 2025, as they are received. These contracts are initiated by your principal or Athletic Director through Shawn Muscott (ext. 5030).
EXTRA DAYS contracts (if applicable) – if you are expecting an "extra days" assignment and it is not with your regular assignment, please contact your principal to issue the required form. HR needs this information yearly.
