Message From the Principal
It is so hard to believe it is October already. It seems as though this year is flying by. There is so many exciting things going on at Sagebrush. Kids and staff alike are working really hard and achieving great things.
With the change to October, it is time for our “October Count” day. This is the official day that we count all students who are in attendance. This number is taken into account in terms of our yearly budget and staffing count. We receive money in our budget for each student in our official count as well as receive staffing based upon that number.
Our official “October Count” day is this Monday, October 2nd. It is very important that all students are either in attendance that day or have been called in as absent. Thank you for maximizing our student count because it benefits us in so many ways.

Chopper Toppers is coming to Sagebrush!
Chopper Toppers will be visiting Sagebrush Elementary October 9th-13th for 1st and 2nd grade students!
A consent form was sent home to all 1st and 2nd grade students this week. If you would like your child to participate to receive a dental screening, fluoride varnish, and sealants as needed, please return the Chopper Toppers consent form back to your teacher by October 4th.
There is no money collected from the school or family.
Leadership Leopards for 3rd, 4th and 5th Grade

Calling all 3rd-5th grade students! Student Leadership is back, just with a new name! The Leadership Leopards of Sagebrush will have their first meeting next Tuesday from 2:45-3:40 in the library.
This is a club in which students can be involved in meaningful leadership opportunities both in and outside the classroom.
If you are interested in having your child be a part of this experience they simply need to show up.

Science Matters - Unsolved Science
Unsolved Science:
Science Matters needs your help to solve the Unsolved Science Mystery! Use forensic science skills to solve the Mystery and become a Chemical Detective! Create your own Chemical Detective Kit, Lift and identify crime scene fingerprints, reveal secret messages, extract DNA, and discover more forensic science techniques used in crime scene investigations!
In this club, you can become a Science Super Sleuth. Can you help explain Unsolved Science?

PASS Committee
This committee of parents and school staff work together to promote the success of all students. The goal is to engage in meaningful and effective partnerships with our African American and Latino families by strengthening relationships between the school and parent communities.
Meetings are held Sept. 28, Nov. 30, Jan. 25, Feb. 21, and May 16.

Do you have some time to volunteer?
Classroom/School Volunteer
Teachers are always looking for volunteers to help with clerical tasks within the classroom, work with individuals or small groups of children, or anything that the teacher would need, including chaperoning field trips. As a school, we are always looking for someone to provide the office, specials classes or library with an hour of time to help complete tasks.

PTCO
PTCO is the major fundraising/community building arm of Sagebrush. PTCO is responsible for the Fun Run, School Dance and Auction, Game NIght, Yearbook and many community building activities. PTCO meetings are held typically the 2nd Thursday of the month from 6:30—7:30.

You're invited to our annual Trunk or Treat hosted by Sagebrush PTCO
Friday, October 27th, from 6pm-8pm.
This will be another amazing Trunk or Treat! We will have a DJ, photo station, food trucks, and a trunk contest!
