A note from the principal's desk...
WOW, last week was an awesome way to close the month of September. On Friday, 96.55% of our kids wore green and white in some form or another. It was great to celebrate our school community!
As we start the month of October, we are introducing "Kindness Wednesdays." We will be working with kids to show some form of kindness to those around them through simple acts that they might not always think about doing. While we will also encourage kindness and do so through the Rocket Way, Wednesday's will be focused specifically on how we can show kindness to others.
I'm excited to see what comes from this work. If you have some specific celebrations for your family, please share! I'd love to mention it to others.
As we think of kindness, one way that we can help kids connect to our expectations is through reteaching, reminding and holding them accountable to "The Rocket Way...Respect. Pride. Integrity." in all they do. We ask that you do the same but consider using this model:
Respect: being kind so someone shows respect for you and for them. It is honoring something in you or them.
Pride: How can you treat someone with kindness, empathy and consideration even if you feel "wronged."
Integrity: Doing the right thing, even when no one is looking.
REMINDER: NO SCHOOL ON FRIDAY (OCTOBER 7)!!!
Please reach out if you have any questions!
Have a great week everyone!

A message from our food service director
Please complete a school lunch application if your income has changed since you last filled one out or if you have not yet completed one this year. This information is super helpful for R-P funding, but also necessary for food service to have if an additional round of P-EBT cards go out. Complete the form online at lunchapp.com. THANK YOU!
