Hello Mustang Families!
With support from PACT, MGMS student Wellness Team are supporting The Closet at MGMS, local elementary schools and Cross Food Shelf by hosting a Spring Food Drive from March 10-14. We are looking for school snack items and other non-perishable food items for the food shelf. We need everyone's help in order to reach our school wide goal of at least 3200 items donated!
Food items can be brought to school and dropped off in students’ Advisory class or the main office. If you drop off at the main office, please write your child’s name and advisory teacher on it so we can give them credit for the donation. The top class from each grade level will earn a celebration. The student Wellness Team is currently deciding on what the celebration will be (i.e. ice cream sundae party)
Thank you for your support!

REMINDER: Parent pick up at the end of the day!
Maple Grove Families:
We encourage all families to prepare in advance to pick their child up early from school by sending a note to bring to student services and receive an early dismissal pass. If you do have an unplanned pick-up, please be to the main office by 2:30 to guarantee we are able to get your child from class.
Thank you!

MGMS Choir & Theater Hosts ~ SCHOOL DANCE!
The choir and theater departments are excited to host school dances as a fundraiser for all MGMS students! Each grade will have their own dance: January 16th for 7th graders, February 28th for 8th graders, and March 6th for 6th graders. There will be a photo booth, concessions, glow elements and an appearance by our very own resident DJ, Mr. Jones! Please stay tuned for more information after winter break including how to get tickets. The School Dance is only for current MGMS students.

THE CLOSET AT MGMS
The MGMS Closet is a place for student in need to get clothes, school supplies and hygiene items. The Closet is supplied by donations. If you clean out your closets and have clean clothes in good condition and are looking for a place to donate, please consider the Closet by dropping off items in the front office during school hours. (Socks and underwear must be new/unused). We also have a MGMS Closet Amazon wish list. All donations are greatly appreciated. If your child wants to access The Closet, please have them speak to their school counselor or social worker.
Opt-out Information & Universal Screening
The purpose of this communication is to inform you that students in grades 2-12 will take the mySAEBRS assessment this fall and again this spring. The mySAEBRS assessment, which stands for Minnesota Student Academic Behavioral Rating Scales, is student self-evaluation. It provides valuable insights into areas such as social skills, emotional well-being, and behavioral strengths and challenges. This assessment helps us gain a more comprehensive understanding of your child's needs, allowing us to better support their growth and development. For more information about assessment items and questions asked click here. If you would like to opt your child out of this assessment, please complete the Parent/Guardian Refusal for Student Participation in Districtwide Assessments/Testing linked on https://www.district279.org/academics/assessments.
