Dear Olmito Elementary Families,

Welcome Back - Happy New Year!
We hope you had a wonderful holiday season! A friendly reminder that Monday, January 6, 2025, is a student holiday. Classes resume on Tuesday, January 7, 2025. We look forward to welcoming back our Ocelots!

1) January Attendance Challenge - Paper Chain Race
Help us promote excellent attendance! This month, grade levels will compete in a Paper Chain Race. Each day, the grade level with the highest attendance percentage earns a paper ring to add to their chain. The grade with the longest chain at the end of January wins a pizza party! Attendance matters—let’s make every day count!

2) Report Cards Go Home
Report cards for the 2nd nine weeks (October–December) will be sent home on Wednesday, January 8, 2025. Please review your child’s progress and reach out to their teacher with any questions.

3) Law Enforcement Appreciation Day - RSVP

4) RGV Vipers Game Featuring OES Dazzling Paws Dance Team

5) Cold Weather Update 🥶❄️

Next week, we will be expecting a cold front to pass through our area. Please ensure that your child has a warm coat to wear to school. If there are any changes to student dress code, a Remind message will be sent out. We are currently monitoring the weather forecast and make decisions on changes as soon as possible.
