Board Business
- The Leyden Area Board Dinner will be on Wednesday, January 26th. Board members received a sign up sheet for attendance.
- Dr. Boryszewski read a letter from Historical Society Chairperson, Dan Silwicki. Mr. Silwicki thanked District 81 and DLA Architects for attending their last meeting and presenting digital video images. The Historical Society greatly appreciated the photo memory book they received from the district, and the tour of the new Washington. They enjoy coming to the schools, and think the students always do an amazing job. They are appreciative of the opportunity to give the community better access to the Historical Society with their new space.
Old Business Information
Washington School:
- Dr. Boryszewski shared that the projected move-in date is March 14th, 2022. Students will be able to access classrooms, cafeteria, art, music. In addition, a solution was found for the glazed brick that the district could not acquire: a tile that is similar to the brick will be used. This new material will be the same warranty and wear and tear as the glazed brick, and the product offers the same effect. Additional costs were incurred due to this change, but it is still within the budgeted allowances for the project. The exterior will not be complete when the students move in.
- Another Board of Education tour will be scheduled, perhaps over winter break in the late afternoon.
