Goals
At Liberty, we reference students being "Ranger STRONG" every day. Students learn about our core values in lessons with their teachers and the Mr. Kennedy, the school counselor.
School Wide Behavior Expectations
"Be Respectful, Be Responsible, Be Safe" are Liberty's school wide, Tier 1 behavior expectations. Behavior matrices that outline common expectations are posted throughout each location in the school. These expectations are explicitly taught, modeled, practiced, revisited, and positively reinforced.
Liberty also utilizes a universal attention getter, which is a repeated clapping pattern.
Visuals
Expected Behavior Videos
Throughout the year, teachers use Expected Behavior Videos to teach and reteach what is expected in each area of Liberty School. These videos feature Liberty students and were made in collaboration with the Video Production Class at North Ridgeville High School.
Think Sheets
Students at Liberty might receive a Think Sheet to reflect upon a choice that they made at school. If your student receives a Think Sheet, please consider scanning the QR code to watch the associated expected behavior video with your student. As you watch, pause and discuss expected vs. unexpected behavior in that area of the school building.
You can view digital copies of the Think Sheets by clicking here.
Monthly PBIS Home-to-School Connection
Each month we invite families to participate in a PBIS Home-to-School Connection activity. The activities relate to Liberty's PBIS program and our building-wide Character Strong trait of that month. At the start of each month, students will bring home a paper in their take home folder that describes the optional activity. Students who bring back a completed paper are entered into a drawing to earn a free prize from our PBIS Cart!

Liberty Leaders - Student PBIS Team
At Liberty, our 2nd Gr. teachers nominate student leaders to be a member of our Student PBIS Team! Our Student PBIS team provides input on rewards/prizes, helps with running the PBIS Cart, collects feedback from their peers, gives tours of the school for new students, and more! Nominations for the 2024-2025 school year will take place in October.
Prize Cart
New to Liberty for the 2024-2025 school year is "PBIS Experience Tickets." For 120 stickers, students will have the opportunity to buy a ticket to a special event each quarter. This year's events include a "Sports Day," a visit from Jungle Terry, and a visit from a magician!

Remarkable Ranger
Each week, teachers and staff at Liberty have the opportunity to nominate a "Remarkable Ranger." A Remarkable Ranger is someone who was noticed doing something safe, respectful, and/or responsible while at school. Student's names are shared on the Morning Announcements on the last day of each week. Following announcements, students come to the office to sign their name on a Remarkable Ranger paper for the hallway bulletin board.
PBIS Assemblies
During our monthly PBIS assemblies, Mr. Kennedy, our school counselor, recognizes our students of the month and reviews the school-wide character trait of the month. We also pull 5 lunch/recess tickets from each grade-level bucket for the opportunity to win lunch with the principals/counselor!
