A Note from Mrs. Pitts: A Little Homework
Please read below!
Principal's Advisory Council:
This year I will be bringing back the PRINCIPAL'S ADVISORY COUNCIL. This is a group of parents, teachers and community members who will come together to discuss current school topics and initiatives. For example, this group may consider ways to celebrate our National Blue Ribbon award or talk about ways in which we can celebrate and recognize the diversity within our school community. Although these are just a couple of thoughts, we will build our topics as a team.
Dates: 10/12, 11/2, 1/11, 3/21, 5/23
Please email me if you are interested! mpitts@sau50.org
Who Are Our Families?:
In an effort to recognize and celebrate all the ways in which our R.E.S. families are unique, please take a minute or two to complete the following form! Your participation is optional. We want to know more about our students and celebrate who they are so we thought we would start with all of you!
Have an amazing weekend!
Michelle Pitts, Principal

RES Reminders
1. Please let your child out at drop off on the SCHOOL SIDE.
2. When arriving for pick up, please do not get out of the car and again,
3. Please have your child be able to enter the car on the SCHOOL SIDE.
The teachers who do these duties have this down to a science but really need your help with SCHOOL SIDE drop off and pick up.
TOYS/FIDGETS/TRADING CARDS
Please know that any toys, fidgets or other home items are not permitted at school. If a teacher requests this (stuffed animal day, show and tell, etc.) it is fine! If a child needs a fidget or a specific learning tool, we will provide it, if needed. Thank you for your support and understanding!

Lunch with Students
We do allow one family member at a time to have lunch with their child(ren) but this is very optional and we don't want families to feel pressured to attend.
- Email resoffice@sau50.org if you would like to attend with the date/time (starting October 1). It is important to anticipate who will be in the building. We love these opportunities for students and their family members but we will always put safety first.
- We do have a focus during this time...eating for energy and brain power!
- Family members must meet the child in the cafeteria and leave from the cafeteria.
- Lunch times are:
Kindergarten-11:45-12:10
First Grade-12:15-12:40
Second Grade-12:15-12:40
Third Grade- 11:15-11:40
Fourth Grade-11:15-11:40

1- Cornhole Tournament on Oct 1st at Cisco Brewery- is SOLD OUT for teams!! But we do have spectator tickets where you can come hang and cheer on the teams! Light bites served. We also have an online and in person raffle on Sunday of some fun donations from our community! Check it out and buy some entries! Winners announced next week!
2- Rye400 Party at Atlantic Grill - apps, drink tickets, silent auction, and a way to have a night out with your partner or friends and support the playground! All $ raised comes back to the playground. ALSO RES STAFF CAN BABYSIT YOUR RES STUDENTS!! Complete the sign up genius for your students to have fun at school after hours while you are having fun mingling with friends!

REF: Rye Educational Foundation Needs Help!
The Rye Education Foundation funds unique educational opportunities for Rye students.
In a typical year, the interest earned from its $1 million endowment with the New Hampshire
Charitable Foundation allows REF to grant approximately $40,000 to RES and RJH, which
funds programs requested by teachers, staff and principals. During the 2022/23 school year
REF funded 23 grants for a total of $71,778! REF is looking for Grants Committee volunteers to work with teachers in both Rye schools. On the Grants Committee, volunteers have the opportunity to communicate directly and build relationships with teachers and staff. It is a great way to get involved with our two incredible schools.
To explore some of the grants funded by REF through the years, please check out our website
www.RyeEducationFoundation.org. We also invite any interested parents to join us at this year’s kick-off meeting with the REF Board and Grants Committee on the evening of Monday,
September 18th.
For more information about volunteer opportunities with REF and the meeting
details, email co-chairs Katie Jones and Stephanie Tabit at refgrantscommittee@gmail.com.
Thank you for your interest in the Rye Education Foundation!
