Principal's Message
Dear Falcon students and families,
I hope everyone had an excellent weekend and feel ready to take on Fall as all the leaves and signs of Autumn are here. This past week, our students began writing some of their first summative assessments, and our athletic teams started their seasons. On September 11 our students had their first Opportunity Wednesday of the year and many took advantage of the time by signing up at our Club Fair. This upcoming Wednesday will see our first Staff Collaboration Wednesday. Teachers will be meeting in their departments. Students will also have an opportunity to take in a post secondary presentation in the library by U of A - Augustana University starting at 2:17 p.m..
We are excited to host our first Bev Facey School Council meeting this Tuesday at 6:00 p.m.. We are hoping for a great turnout of parents, as we rely on their feedback and their advisory role as integral partners in our school community. Please look at the feature article below for more information on how to attend either in person or virtually.
As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Canada's Advanced Placemnt Programs
In Canada, Advanced Placement (AP) programs are thriving, with 32,014 students from 580 schools participating in AP courses. Additionally, over 100,000 students from more than 800 schools across 250+ communities are engaged in AP pathway courses. This impressive reach spans every province and territory, and advanced credit is granted by every English-speaking university in the country.
Bev Facey AP Exam Registration Deadline(s)
Full Year - October 21st
Semester One β October 21st
Exam Only β October 21st
Semester Two β February 28th
Dual Admission Advantage
Some post-secondary institutions give students the option to use either their AP exam scores or high school grades as part of their admission process. This means that students who excel in Advanced Placement (AP) courses and achieve high scores on their AP exams may have a distinct advantage when applying to college or university. For these institutions, strong AP exam results can be a valuable indicator of a student's readiness for the academic challenges of post-secondary education. By allowing AP scores to be considered alongside high school grades, institutions provide a flexible entry pathway that can highlight a student's advanced knowledge and skills, potentially enhancing their chances of admission.
