Message From The Superintendent
We are at the point where we are close to closing the book on the 2023-2024 school year. I am very proud of the year that our students, staff, and community were able to put together. This past weekend we graduated our Columbus High School Class of 2024. We wish them all the best as they move forward to the next chapter of their lives. We hope that we have played a role in a successful future.
We are excited for our students that are being promoted to a new building or entering a new program next year. We hope that all of you will be presented with new opportunities and welcomed challenges.
One strategy that I learned from a previous supervisor is the value in taking time to reflect. We hope that you will take the time to do that with your child(ren) sometime this summer. Take some time and discuss what went well or not so well from this past school year. Perhaps, it is an opportunity to discuss next steps based on that reflection. I know in my family, it is not always an activity that is easy to get started (especially as the children get older). I know how much I can learn when I listen to their reflections, though.
We thank all of you for your role as parents. Also, we thank any of you that offered feedback and support throughout the year. We are excited to see many of our students at summer school. We hope that everyone takes some time to recharge the batteries this summer. We hope that all of our students continue to explore and learn during the next couple of months. We look forward to continuing to take steps to ensure that Columbus is a great place for students to learn and staff to work!
Sincerely,
Jake Flood

Columbus Police Department Active Threat Response Training
The Columbus Police Department will be hosting an active threat response training at Columbus Middle School June 17th - 21st. This training will include local Law Enforcement, Fire and EMS personnel. The training is scheduled to run from approximately 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. each day. During these times, citizens and anyone passing by could expect to see any of the following: emergency response personnel in and out of the building with training firearms, simulated casualties, and/or emergency vehicles with emergency lights activated. Training signage will also be displayed at entrances. The middle school and district office may be closed during that week. Building closing information will be communicated on the district's Facebook page. Any questions regarding this training can be directed to Lt. Darrell Ward at the Columbus Police Department.
Charlie's News
The Columbus School District has introduced a captivating new magazine, "Charlie's News," to enlighten the community about the latest developments and endeavors within the district. This vibrant publication takes readers on a journey through various aspects of the district's operations, student achievements, and initiatives, showcasing the unwavering commitment to fostering excellence in education. "Charlie's News" serves as a window into the heart of the Columbus School District. Readers are greeted with a warm welcome from the superintendent, offering a glimpse of the district's vision for a nurturing and inspiring learning environment. We are excited to announce that "Charlie's News" will once again be mailed out in mid August.
Student Account Balances
We have seen an increase in negative lunch balances. Please take a look in infinite Campus to see where your family is at with lunch accounts. In order to make any purchases, a student account MUST have a positive balance throughout the school year.
Student accounts can be blocked at parent's request by contacting the Food Service Director.
Pay By Check or Cash
Envelopes are available in each school office or place payments in a sealed envelope with the student(s) full name, meal ID#, and amount enclosed.
Payments received are processed and updated within 24 hours with the exception of holidays and vacations.
Pay Online
Using your parent portal, you can track your student's meal account balance and spending habits
