NEWS FROM THE STUDENT SERVICES DEPARTMENT
AP Exam Information
AP testing takes place May 5 - 16, 2025 during the school day at CB South. Students enrolled in an AP class at any point during the year will receive a “join code” from their assigned teacher. They will place that "join code" in their student AP CollegeBoard account. AP teachers will assist students in that process.
Once students have completed digital activation (joining) their AP classes, they must pay for the exams in their My Payments Plus account if they wish to take the exam or an exam will not be ordered for them. Payment periods in My Payments Plus will vary based upon when the student started the AP class (1st marking period, 2nd marking period, or 3rd marking period).
Also, starting May 2025, the Collegeboard is changing how exams will be administered. Students will utilize a testing application called Bluebook (this is the same application used for PSAT and SAT).
Fully digital AP subjects for 2025—no paper testing option available:
· AP Comparative Government and Politics
· AP Computer Science A
· AP Computer Science Principles
· AP English Language and Composition
· AP English Literature and Composition
· AP Environmental Science
· AP European History
· AP Psychology
· AP United States History
Hybrid digital AP subjects for 2025—students will view all exam questions in digital format but will answer free-response questions in a paper format:
· AP Biology
· AP Calculus AB
· AP Calculus BC
· AP Chemistry
· AP Macroeconomics
· AP Microeconomics
· AP Physics C: Electricity and Magnetism
· AP Physics C: Mechanics
· AP Statistics
The following subjects will remain unchanged for 2025:
· AP French Language and Culture
· AP Spanish Language and Culture
AP Exam Payment
AP exam payment opens in mypaymentsplus accounts on Monday, September 16, 2024, and runs through Sunday, November 3, 2024 11:59pm.
Payment at this time is ONLY for students who started an AP class 1st marking period and wish to take the AP exam.
A separate payment window will take place in the winter for all AP classes that began 2nd or 3rd marking periods.
Besides making payment for the exam, students must join their AP class in their AP Collegeboard account.
AP exams will not be ordered for students if payment is not made by the deadline in mypaymentsplus.
The cost is $104 per exam. Per Collegeboard, late orders and/or cancellations will incur a $40 fee, however cancellations will allow for a refund of $63.
Any questions regarding payment can be addressed with Mr. Tom Hill - CB South AP Coordinator – thill@cbsd.org
PSAT Registration for 10th and 11th Grade Students
The PSAT/NMSQT will be offered to 10th and 11th grade students on Saturday, October 26th, 2024.
The window for 10th & 11th grade families to register on My Payments Plus will be open in early August.
The deadline to register will be Friday September 13th. The College Board has changed how PSAT registrations are processed, so late registrations are no longer possible. We plan to open registrations over the summer prior to the Fall ordering deadline so that all who register will get a seat; however, exam seats cannot be sold after registration closes. We are opening the registration window during the summer break because there will not be much time to register before the College Board’s ordering deadline in September.
College-bound 10th and 11th grade students are encouraged to take the PSAT to gain exposure to the SAT, an exam many colleges use when making admissions decisions. Typically, we suggest waiting until after a student completes Algebra 2 since this will be part of the math assessment, but it is up to the individual's readiness. Juniors may also use the test to qualify for the National Merit Scholarship Program. For more information about the PSAT, you can visit the College Board website.
If your student plans on using accommodations associated with their existing 504/IEP, the appropriate paperwork must be submitted to the College Board before August 20th, 2024. Please contact your 504/IEP Case Manager regarding your student’s testing status if they are ready to take the PSAT.
Senior College Application Process Information
Some seniors may have gotten a head start on their college applications by working on them throughout the summer. While some colleges allow students to “self report” their school records, others require the high school to send the student’s transcript, schedule, school profile, and other school records directly to the admissions office. Seniors can now request records be sent to selected colleges. It is absolutely critical that the procedures we have in place are followed line by line to ensure that records are able to be pushed through Naviance. When students do the process out of order, it can lead to technical glitches that will delay our ability to process records requests through Naviance.
All resources for the College Application Process can be found on the Student Services Page. All students and their families are asked to carefully review the Application Process Packet and Quick Guide to Requesting Transcripts & Recommendations (to the right side of the page) prior to making any kind of request for records. We ask that students submit their applications prior to requesting transcripts and recommendations so there is a complete application in the college’s system to link up to.
Students: Create a Design for CBSD's Lock Screen for All to See!
During the 2024-2025 school year, CBSD invites students to draw inspiration from CBSD's "Portrait of a Graduate" to create an original design to display on the lock screens of district laptops and ClearTouch panels. The winning artwork will be featured on CBSD screens each month for all students, faculty and staff to see! The winning student artist will also receive a prize. Students can submit their designs based on each month's Portrait of a Graduate theme. Submissions are due on the 20th of each month. More details and how to submit.
Regular School Attendance is Critical for Student Success and Well-Being
As we begin the 2024-25 school year, CBSD wishes to remind families of important information regarding attendance. Pennsylvania's school laws, like Act 138 of 2016 and the updated Act 16, outline what is required for mandatory school attendance and procedures to follow when students are absent or late. Learn more
Information on Title IX
The 2024 Title IX regulations enhance protections against sexual harassment and gender identity discrimination. CBSD is dedicated to ensuring an environment free from discrimination due to race, age, religion, sex, gender identity, disability and any other classification protected by state or federal law. We uphold Title IX, prohibiting sex-based discrimination and harassment. Updated Title IX regulations, approved in the summer of 2024, emphasize stronger protections for students, particularly regarding sexual harassment and gender identity discrimination. Parents and guardians with inquiries should contact their building principal or Alyssa Wright, Title IX coordinator, at 267-893-2060 or alwright@cbsd.org. More information
New Safety Protocol Launched with New School Year
All schools in CBSD will be implementing the Standard Response Protocol developed by the "I Love U Guys" Foundation beginning this school year. The SRP provides a framework for handling various emergency situations in schools by emphasizing the importance of consistent, clear communication across all schools and with law enforcement. Learn more.
Traffic Patterns at CB South
Traffic patterns are a significant safety concern on the CB South property. Student drivers will receive directions regarding their entrance to and exit from the building with the driving permit application form. We are asking everyone who drives on the South property to observe the 15 MPH speed limit. This speed limit is important during the school day and equally important during afternoon, evening and weekend hours. All drivers are also asked to follow the painted traffic lanes and not cut across the parking aisles to reach their destination. We have experienced many “fender benders” and even more “near misses.” It is very important for everyone to follow these rules to avoid a more serious incident. Security cameras are used to monitor the parking lots and violators will lose driving privileges.
Please visit CB South's website for specific Student Drop-Off/Pick-Up Information.
CB South Athletics
Hudl TV
The Central Bucks School District Athletic Department will continue to stream all of our athletic contests live through Hudl and Hudl TV. This new platform allows viewers to watch through better cameras and have better visibility of the venue and student athletes. This new system will allow parents, family members, and friends watch their favorite student athlete and program if they can’t be at the game in person. Please click on the link below to access CB South’s personal web page for all live stream events.
Athletic Passes
A reminder CB South, all family athletic passes must be picked up before the 9/20 football game. Receipts or pictures on a phone will not be accepted. Please stop by the Athletic Office between today and next Friday to claim your pass.
Athletic Spectator Policy
A reminder fans that the Suburban One League promotes good sportsmanship by student-athletes, coaches, and spectators. We request your cooperation by supporting the participants and officials in a positive manner. Profanity, racial or sexist comments, threats or other intimidating actions directed at officials, student-athletes, or team representatives will not be tolerated and are grounds for removal from the site of competition. Also, consumption of alcoholic beverages and use tobacco products or artificial noise makers are prohibited.
For your reference, please review CB District Policy 904. The purpose of the policy to welcome all public activities and events held by the school district. However, the Board also acknowledges its duty to maintain order and preserve district facilities during such events. The Board has the authority to prohibit at a school district event the attendance of any individual whose conduct may constitute a disruption. The Board prohibits gambling and the possession and use of controlled substances, alcoholic beverages, tobacco, and weapons on school premises.

Cross Country
The Titan Cross Country teams lost a hard-fought meet yesterday to Pennridge.
In the boys' race, The Titans were led by junior Sebastian Marquez-Ferber who finished first for the Titans in a time of 17:19. Senior Kenny Konopka (17:38) and the sophomore duo of Nate Meister (17:43) and Darren Rafa (17:48) were not far behind and ran smart races. The Titans continue to build a pack that will help them succeed later in the season.
The girls were led by senior standout Riley Rooney who finished first overall, traversing the 5K course in a time of 19:23. Coming in second and third for the Titans were sophomores Grace Waibel (20:38) and Taryn Kotsur (21:56).
Next Up: CB South will take on North Penn on September 18 with the first race starting at 3:30 p.m.
Football
The CB South Football pushed their record to 3-0 after a 33-7 victory over visiting Upper Dublin on September 6. The Titans racked up 398 total yards of offense, which included a near balanced attack of 198 yards rushing and 200 yards passing. Owen Pinkerton led the team with 102 yards on the ground while adding another 200 yards through the air on 11 completions. Danny Geiss paced the team with 113 yards receiving, including a long of 78 yards. Pinkerton also tallies a touchdown on the ground while Geiss, McCusker, and Cape finished the night with a receiving touchdown each.
Defensively, Eddie Bowen led the team with seven total tackles including a sack and tackle for a loss. Meanwhile Brandon Zubyk, finished the night with six tackles, a tackle for loss, and forced fumble. Overall, the Titans defense limited the Cardinals to 188 total yards, which included 103 yards rushing and just 85 yards through the air.

Field Hockey
Week 9/5 thru 9/11
9/5/24
vs Souderton Lost 1 to 3
While the outcome wasn’t what we wanted, we were still very happy on how the girls played tonight. The team lost some key players due to illness and injury and several players from our reserve stepped up to play in new positions. We never let up even though we were down 0 to 3 by the 3rd quarter. Emily Aldrich scored our lone goal off at feed from Addy Edwards and Kaeli VanDerSluis. Defense was led by Avery Tyler, who made a defensive save, Sophia Kraft, Kelly Hemsley and Hailey Finn. Goalkeeper Brianna Lucas was a huge presence in the goal cage saving 21 of Souderton’s 24 shots.
9/9/24
vs CBW Lost 0 to 6
We had a tough game against a strong CB West Team. The team started off with solid defense in the first quarter of the game where the score remained 0 to 0. In the next 3 quarters, CB West was able to score 2 goals in each quarter. The Titans didn’t have many chances to get on the score board but did their best. Brianna Lucas was the goalkeeper, and she saved 15 shots on goal.
9/11/24
vs Pennridge Lost 0 to 1
Another temporary setback for the Titan field hockey team. The Titans could not capitalize on their shots on goal in this home game under the lights. Pennridge was able to squeak a goal in on a penalty corner as time expired at the end of the second quarter. The score remained that way for the rest of the game, even though the Titans kept Pennridge on their heels.
Next Up: CB South returns to action on Friday, September 13 when the Titans host Hatboro-Horsham at 3:30 p.m. at Titan Stadium. Game times are 3:30 p.m. (Varsity) and 5 p.m. (JV).
Golf
Varsity golf:
The Varsity Golf team played in two matches this week.
The first was an invitational tournament with North Penn and CB East at Lookaway Country Club. South ended with the low score of the match after a tiebreak was calculated.
The other match was a divisional match at home vs. Pennridge. South won with a score of 198-204. Leading the team and posting rounds two over par (38) were juniors Colin Chelak and Adam Perlmutter. The team still holds on to first place in the division with an 8-1 record. They have one more divisional match against CB West next Monday, 9/16, then end the season with 3 non divisional Suburban One League teams.
JV Golf
The JV Golf team took their win streak on the road yesterday and defeated Plymouth Whitemarsh at Jeffersonville Golf Club. The JV squad has now won their last six matches to improve to 6 wins and 3 losses on the season. Low scores for yesterday’s match were posted by John Moyer and Nolan Traczykiewicz. The Titans take on CB West next Monday at the Buck’s Club!
Next Up: CB South will return home to The Bucks Club to take on rival CB West on Monday September 16. Tee times are slated for 3 p.m.
Girls' Soccer
Central Bucks South 4, North Penn 3
The first 40 minutes were all CB South. The second 40 minutes were all North Penn.
It felt like the next 10 minutes were anyone's to take. Thanks to a whistle with 10 seconds left and a composed PK from Alana Peev, it was the Titans claiming all three points and reversing the result from their overtime loss to CB East earlier in the week

CB South coach Pat Lordi: "We did not complete an 80-minute game with the same quality we played with in the first half. The lesson is when we play together for 80 minutes we can compete in the league. Anything short of that who knows what will happen."

Twice, the Titans found themselves behind by a goal on Tuesday night and twice, they responded. CB South coach Pat Lordi on the win: "What a tremendous performance by all the girls in a complete team effort. The second half was a complete team response to a back-and-forth game. The defense was really good only giving up a total of six shots. Our midfield play by Olivia Wade, Monica Daly, Morgan Hughes, Olivia Daniele, Khloe Montini and Payton Mumm was outstanding."
CBS Girls overall record 6-2
2-1 in the division
Next Up: CB South travels to Pennridge on Thursday, September 12. Match times are set for 5:30 p.m. (JV) and 7 p.m. (Varsity).
Boys' Soccer
The CB South Boys' Varsity Soccer team is coming off a big week and preparing for an even bigger one next week.
On September 6, CB South took the Knights of North Penn. It was an unusual game as new head coach Ed Brnardic had to coach against his sons Nino and Bruno who play for North Penn. Anthony Bice took matters into his own hands scoring two goals (one assisted by Tyler Jaskelewicz and the other by AJ Okoniewski) to propel South to a 2-1 victory.
There was no rest as the Titans took on Holy Ghost Prep on the morning of Saturday, September 7. After a sluggish first half that saw South sitting with a 1-0 lead (Nate Monser was taken down in the box and AJ Okoniewski put away the PK), our boys fired up the engine and put on a show in the second half scoring three more tallies to win 4-0 (second half goals by Josh Dozier, Evan Jaskelewicz and Nate Monser assisted by AJ Okoniewski, Tyler Jaskelewicz and Jackson Tait).
The momentum from the second half against Holy Ghost carried over into the big rivalry game at War Memorial Stadium which saw the Titans put on a dominating performance against a hungry CB West team. “We were given an extra boost by all the CB South students who came out to support the team and we wanted to put on a show for them. And we did!” said Head Coach Ed Brnardic. Early in the match Anthony Bice scored after Evan Jaskelewicz intercepted a pass and immediately connected with him on a through ball which Anthony tucked away into the far corner. Later in the half it was the ever-present Josh Dozier who quickly found Tyler Jaskelewicz and TJ then connected with his brother Evan Jaskelewicz. Evan didn’t try to place the ball in the net with a finesse shot – instead he fired it so hard he nearly tore the seams off the ball and the West goalie just couldn’t deal with it, giving our South boys a 2-0 lead. We were able to close out the game when Anthony Bice was first to pounce on a bouncing cross from Dylan Lynch to give us a 3-1 win.
CB South is now 6-0 heading into the toughest stretch of the season. A Thursday afternoon match against a physical Pennridge team is followed by a Saturday morning match at a neutral site against Archbishop Curley (one of the top teams in Maryland). It gets even tougher next week as the boys become road warriors, first travelling to Souderton on Tuesday in a huge battle between undefeated teams, followed by a Thursday trip to Council Rock South, and then on the road again the next night at Germantown Academy.
Next Up: The Titans host the Knights of North Penn on Friday, September 6 at 3:15 p.m. at Titan Stadium.
Girls' Volleyball
The CB South Titans Volleyball Team started the week off with a big win against the Indians of Souderton High School. Leading a strong offensive attack was Junior middle hitter Lane Mclauglin who tallied a huge 17 Kills. Senior Outside Hitter Madison Zagnojny racked up a season high 12 kills in the contest. Sophomore Allison West, Senior Jackie Finlaw each tallied 6 kills, while sophomore Sophia Mancini added 3 to the team’s total. A strong defensive effort was led by sophomore Olivia Hessenthaler who dove all over the place to rack up 20 digs, Junior setter Carly Scott added 12 to the defensive effort while dishing out 27 assists!
Next Up: CB South travels to North Penn High School on Thursday, September 12 to take on the Knights for matches at 5:30 p.m. (JV) and 6:30 p.m. (Varsity). The Titan return home to take on Gwynedd Mercy Academy on Friday, September 13 starting at 5:30 p.m. (JV) 6:30 p.m. (Varsity).
Girls' Tennis
CB South Varsity Girls' Tennis scored another in conference win this week against North Penn. CBS came away with a 6-2 victory with wins at 1st singles - Grace Piro, 2nd singles Mehana Reddy, 1st doubles Maggie Sowash/Cynthia Zhang, 3rd doubles Aditi Chathuruthy/Aditi Agnihotri, 4th doubles Sarah Phillipps/Grace Yu and exhibition Sophia O/Olivia Chiosso. JV won 6-2.
On Wednesday, the varsity Girls' Tennis team beat Pennsbury 7-1, with decisive victories at 1st singles - Grace Piro 6-0 6-0 and 3rd singles - Ria Voocha 6-0 6-4 and sweeping the doubles bracket. JV won as well with a score of 6-2.
Next Up: CB South travels to CB East for another league match on Thursday, September 12. First serve is slated for 3:30 p.m.

CB South’s Administration respectfully requests that parents monitor their child’s whereabouts and actions before athletic events at CB South. Please be aware of your child’s plans before the event, how they will safely get to the event, and how they will safely arrive home from the event.
We hope that you continue to show your enthusiasm and school spirit as we enter the fall season. The Faculty and Administration at CB South has always considered your ability to support our teams in a positive and respectful manner as one of our key points of pride. Please join your classmates in continuing this proud tradition.
