Bryn Mawr Bulletin
May 2024
Hello from Mrs. Beverly!
Dear Families,
Dr. Chamberland and the district sent out emails recently asking families to complete their returning student registration form by May 15, 2024. If you have any issues, or did not receive an email regarding the returning student application, please email apsregistration@auburn.k12.ma.us and the tech team will be able to help you out. Dr. Chamberland sent out some troubleshooting directions.
Reminders:
- Bus application fee goes up May 1st. Be sure to get your bus application in ASAP.
- Satellite registration opens up for the next school year on May 1st as well.
(See district website for bus application and Satellite registration information).
- Even though we want it to be spring and nice weather, it is still chilly outside. Please continue to send your student to school with appropriate weather related clothing (coats / sweatshirts) as it is cold outside recess until the temperature warms up a little more.
- Keep reading and practicing those math facts!
I'm proud of our Bryn Mawr learners and how they continue to be respectful, responsible, safe and kind students. They are growing academically, but they are also becoming nice, caring little humans that will change the world in a positive way.
Smile,
Mrs. Beverly

Visitor / Volunteer Policy
Please note that the District is reinstating the safety procedure of leaving your license and/or picture ID in the main office when you are visiting our school during the school day. You will be provided a visitor pass to wear for your time at school. You will need to sign in as well. When you check out, you will return your visitor pass, and receive your license back. Exceptions will be made for large events.
Additionally, please note that all volunteers, including library volunteers, classroom volunteers and Mystery Readers need to have a current CORI on file with the Auburn Public Schools. All CORI checks are completed at the Superintendent’s Office at 5 West Street and are valid for three years.
Thank you for your anticipated cooperation to ensure the safety of all of our students and staff.
As always, feel free to contact me with any questions, concerns, or suggestions.

Note from Mrs. Moriarty, School Counselor
As we head into the warmer weather I am excited to share that our students have spent the past several weeks learning how to be mindful. Being mindful allows us to focus on what is happening right now, inside our bodies and in the space around us and can help us feel more calm and aware. Our students have had the opportunity to practice mindfulness through a variety of different activities. As we head into the nice weather, I encourage you and your family to take a mindful walk! Using your five senses, you can explore the outdoors in a new and calming way. Talk to your child about things they hear and smell or explore the feeling and textures of different items that they find. For more ideas check out

News from the Nurse
Spring is finally upon us and hopefully the warmer weather. As New Englanders we all know during spring we could have cool mornings with warmer afternoons. Please dress your child accordingly and in layers if needed. Please label sweatshirts and jackets with your child's name to be sure they make it home! Please remember to apply sunscreen BEFORE school as classroom teachers can not apply sunscreen to your children. Hats and sunglasses are also encouraged to protect our eyes and skin from the sun!
Warm weather also means bugs! Here is some information on Tick Bites and Mosquito Bites
Throughout the school year I have been visiting classrooms and presenting on the effects of daily exercise for a healthy body and mind. Here is another resource for you and your family! Here is a resource on healthy eating habits and physical activity.
As a reminder, if your child has a physical exam please send it in with them to keep our records up to date. If there has been a change in your child’s health, (injury, illness, ect.), please reach out to me to discuss any needs your child may need here at school.
Stay Well,
Nurse Robichaud
Reading Notes from Mrs. Fenuccio
One of my favorite things to do with your child is read aloud stories to them every week during Books & Beyond. We have shared so many stories together this year!
I hope that reading aloud something that you enjoy together at home as well. If you haven’t made it part of your regular routine, it’s never too late to start. Here are some tips on reading aloud:
*choose books that are appropriate for your child’s age and interests
*it’s also important to allow your child to choose books that interest them- especially as they get older
*make your read alouds interactive and fun (yes, I’m talking silly voices!!)
*talk about the pictures as you read
*build vocabulary by focusing on and talking about new words
*connect the story to your child’s world
*ask questions about the story and encourage your child to ask what they are wondering about
