WELCOME to the beginning of your transition to middle school! This spring, we will be sending a monthly newsletter to keep 6th grade families informed of events, deadlines, information, etc., pertaining to the transition to 7th grade.

CLASSROOM VISITS:

MTRS administration, counselors, and current students will visit each 6th grade classroom to share information and answer questions. Students will come home with a folder of information, including MTRS registration paperwork to be returned by May 1, 2025.

ICE CREAM SOCIAL

STEP-UP DAY

Please join the seventh-grade teachers and fellow sixth-grade students, Wednesday, April 9th., to socialize, eat delicious ice cream sundaes, and get the "scoop" about what it’s like to go to school at Mohawk Trail.

Ice cream will be provided, but please bring along your favorite topping to share!

During the 6th grade classroom visits, all students will receive a folder of paperwork, including the registration packet.

Completed packets can be returned to the Ice Cream Social on Wednesday, April 9, or to your classroom teacher by Wednesday, May 1. We need this information to confirm that your child will be attending MTRS in the fall. If plans change, PLEASE notify us.

Email is the primary means of communication from MTRS. Please let us know if you need to update your email address or if you want to add another caregiver's email address. *This is very important as the primary caregiver will be the only contact email registered for access, unless you add the second caregiver.*

We will send out more newsletters this spring with additional information to assist in the transition from 6th to 7th grade.

Please make sure to be on the "lookout" in August for Weekly updates that are sent out to the MTRS community. Principal Buckland sends a weekly “Student and Family Update”. Other electronic newsletters come from Athletics, the Library, and Student Services.
