November 2024
Hello TeWinkle Families,
As we step into November, we want to take a moment to reflect on the successes of the past month and look forward to the exciting events planned for the weeks ahead. Your support and involvement are so important to students’ success, and we appreciate all you do!
Please remind your child to stay on top of their assignments and reach out to teachers or attend Genius Hour if they need additional support. This month, students will continue to build on their knowledge in various subjects. We encourage you to check in with your child and on Schoology about their assignments and projects. Need help? Please call our school office for assistance. Here are a few highlights of what each department has been focused on:
- Science: Students have been exploring chemical reactions in 7th grade and 8th gradershave been learning about collision and force. Encourage them to share what they have learned!
- Math: The focus will be on calculating attributes of circles in 7th grade and graphing lines and data points in 8th grade. Regular practice at home can boost their confidence.
- English: We are diving into learning how to respond to literature through essays. 7th graders are reading the novel "Ghost" and 8th graders are reading "The Outsiders." Encourage your child to express their ideas and share your experiences with these texts.
- History: 7th grade historians are studying Islam, while 8th graders are digging in to our U.S. Constitution. History can help you understand how societies have changed, how they were built, and how they operated.
- Physical Education: There are three different skills being taught in our P.E. classes. Ms. Aceves is doing kickball, Mr. Jimenez is teaching volleyball and Mr. Z is teaching Frisbee Golf.
Don't forget about encouraging your child to try out our lunch clubs and after-school programs! We provide students with opportunities to explore their interests, make new friends, and enhance their skills. Check out TeWinkle website for more information on clubs and activities.
In the spirit of giving, ASB will be holding a food drive to support local families in need. Please consider donating non-perishable can food items between November 12th-20th. Our P.T.A. is also coordinating their "Giving Tree." See flyers below. Your generosity makes a difference!
We encourage you to stay connected with us through our school website and social media channels. This is where you’ll find the latest updates, announcements, and resources to support your child’s education. Thank you for your continued support and partnership. We wish you a wonderful November filled with gratitude and joy!
Best,

TeWinkle Middle School
During Middle School, we recognize that students are developing individually, intellectually, and are creating their own independent beliefs. We foster an environment where we empower our students by recognizing their diverse needs and individual strengths and use that knowledge to build lifelong learners. As a Project Lead the Way (PLTW) School, we offer an array of classes that are innovative and rigorous and focus on a STEAM initiative. In addition to PLTW, students can also be participants of music, AVID, Publications or ASB, giving all students an opportunity to become involved in areas of their own personal interest. In the classroom, our students will be engaged in 21st-century learning. We promote peer to peer engagement, high levels of critical thinking, culturally relevant instruction, and students will be challenged to think outside of the box. Our goal is to prepare students for high school and build a culture where we nurture our educational partners desires as it relates to college and career. Every student matters and we believe that every dream can be their reality.
