A Message From The Principal
A parent surprised Mrs. Smith this morning with a gift card at her crossing guard position. This was such a great act of kindness from a wonderful parent recognizing all of the hard work and dedication Mrs. Smith exhibits each day to support the safety of our students, parents and staff. She starts the day and ends the day at the crossing guard position…rain, snow or sun…with a smile!
Congrats Mrs. Smith and thank you to the parent who surprised her with a gift card. Kindness is contagious. Have a great weekend everyone and be kind to someone new this weekend.

Please Do Not Bring Your Pet to School
We know that pets are a huge part of many families. However, please do not bring your pets to school. Student arrival time and dismissal time can be a very anxious time. Bringing your dog or cat when you are walking on campus to pick up your student can be very sensitive for some kids and adults. We do not want anyone accidently bitten or scratched. Safety first.
Thank you for supporting our kids and families by keeping your dogs and pets at home.
How to Order Your Yearbook
Roadrunner Red Fridays
Every Friday, we encourage our students, staff and families to wear Roadrunner spirit wear and/or red to celebrate being a Roadrunner. Of course we also have some fun with it and add a little competition as well. Each Friday, we select 3 classes with the most Roadrunner spirit. We select one winning class for grades (k-2), (3-5) and McGrath. Each winning class gets a Roadrunner flag that will hang outside of their classroom for the following week to show off their Roadrunner spirit. Go Roadrunners!

Regular attendance is crucial for your child's academic success
Student Attendance-Our Partnership With You
Regular attendance is crucial for your child's academic success. Please make every effort to ensure your child attends school on time every day and stays throughout the whole day. Consistent attendance throughout the school day allows your child to engage in learning and maximize their educational opportunities fully.
Illness: If your child is not feeling well and cannot attend school, please notify us immediately. Students who are ill should not attend school to prevent the spread of illness to others.
Excused Absences: We understand that there may be instances when your child needs to be absent due to illness, medical appointments, family emergencies, or other legitimate reasons. Please notify the school in advance whenever possible to classify the absence as excused.
Thank you in advance for calling the attendance line for any absence: 734-419-2727.Unexcused Absences: Unexcused absences negatively impact your child's education. Absences without valid reasons will be considered unexcused, and appropriate actions may be taken per district policy.
Timely reporting of absences helps us maintain accurate attendance records and ensures that your child's absence is properly documented. Absences must be reported within 24 hours.
Thank you in advance for calling the attendance line for any absence: 734-419-2727.There are two convenient methods for reporting your child's absence to facilitate efficient communication and accurate attendance records.
You can notify your child's school through the dedicated attendance line. Please leave a detailed message stating your child's name, grade, and reason for absence.
You can report absences directly through MiStar, our secure online portal for student information. MiStar provides a user-friendly interface that allows you to submit absences.

IMPORTANT: Picking Your Child Up Early from School
We respect that some appointments or obligations will require you to pick-up your child(ren) early from school. If you have an appointment and you must pick up your child early, please expect delays and please come before 2:45 pm. In the spirit of safety, our dismissal process involves all staff and it is very difficult to have staff get a student early from their classroom and bring them to the office between 2:45 and 3:20 pm. Please refrain from picking-up children early from school. This greatly affects our safe and efficient dismissal process. We do not have extra staff to easily get students from class prior to our 3:20 dismissal. Thank you for your continued support. Go Roadrunners!
Student Birthday and Holiday Snacks
Birthdays and holidays are very important. We understand and respect that parents want to send things to classrooms to celebrate birthdays. We encourage families to send fun pencils, books, fun markers, stickers...etc. In the spirit of safety, do not send food items such as cupcakes and cookies to celebrate birthdays. We are a NUT FREE school. Thank you for supporting safety.
