Welding Instructor Recognized as Outstanding Educator
Paul Miller, the welding instructor at Smithfield High School, has been honored with the 2024 Section Educator Award from the American Welding Society (AWS) in recognition of his significant contributions to the Society and the welding industry. This prestigious award celebrates educators who have excelled in advancing the welding knowledge of students through programs such as apprenticeships, corporate training, and other educational initiatives.
In the summer of 2024, Miller attended the Welding Instructor’s Institute at AWS headquarters in Florida. This program allowed him to network with instructors from across the nation, collaborate on industry trends, and refine classroom techniques to better equip students with essential skills. Thanks to Miller's dedication and leadership, IWCS has achieved recognition as an Accredited Educational Institution Member of the American Welding Society.
