Congratulations to Middle School Principal of the Year Steve Diveley
School administrators from across the state were recently recognized by the Illinois Principals Association, broken out by county. Congratulations to Hadley Junior High School Principal Steve Diveley for being named the Middle School Principal of the Year for the DuPage Region of the Illinois Principals Association. Mr. Diveley is now eligible for consideration as Illinois Middle School Principal of the year. Representatives from the Illinois Principals Association attended the D41 Board of Education meeting last Monday to present Mr. Diveley with the award.
“On behalf of the D41 Cabinet Team and staff, I am thrilled that Principal Diveley has been selected for this award. Hadley Junior High is not only high achieving but also a student-centered school,” said Superintendent Dr. Melissa Kaczkowski. “Steve’s leadership along with the commitment of the Hadley staff has made Hadley a point of pride for the district and for this community. Steve demonstrates a commitment to continuous improvement and works very hard to stay current in the field of middle level learning and leadership.”
Mr. Diveley has been in education for 30 years and has served as a principal for 18 years. This is Mr. Diveley's 10th year in District 41. Prior to being a principal, he was a science and social studies teacher and has held various other administrative positions. He earned a bachelor's degree from Central Michigan University and a master's from Northeastern Illinois University in Chicago. Mr. Diveley lives in Naperville with his wife and three children.
New Preordering Process for Lunches
Effective January 9th, District 41’s food service partner Quest will require preorders for all elementary school lunches. The preordering process will allow Quest to better provide the accurate number of lunches to each school building. This process is required for all elementary students including families who have approved fee waivers.
The first round of preorders will need to be completed by midnight on January 5th for lunches during the following week starting on January 9th.
Preordering will be through an app/website called MyMealOrder.com (MMO). In order to get started with MMO you must complete the following steps:
Step 1: Go to mymealorder.com to login Click here
Step 2: Click here for instructions on how to locate your student’s ID. You will need your child’s school ID number to set up myMealOrder.
Step 3: Place your order by midnight on Thursday night for the following week.
Click Here for step by step instructions and screenshots of the process to preorder. (clic para espanol)
If you miss the preorder window and your child doesn’t have lunch from home, your child will be served a Sunbutter sandwich along with a snack and drink. The menus will be up in advance and families may preorder for more than one week at a time.
Please note, the above process is being used solely to collect lunch orders. The charges related to your orders will be automatically transferred to your PushCoin account and applied against your existing balance.
PTA Holiday Sharing Program Brings Holiday Cheer
Since 2005, District 41’s PTA has been organizing a holiday gift program for hundreds of children. This year the program provided gifts for kids as well as gift cards to purchase groceries and other needed items to over 245 families. Community members Karen Winter, Jennifer Huard, Erica Nelson, and Annie Murphy coordinate the program along with a large number of volunteers.
Erica Nelson and Jennifer Huard attended the Board of Education meeting this past Monday to provide information about the history of the program and talk about how the program helped families in need this holiday season. Click here for their presentation.
The program has grown over the years and now includes a number of community partners including:
D41 School PTA’s, our parents, our teachers, our staff members
D41 administrators and staff at the Central Services Office

Feeding Families in Need
The generosity of the community is heartwarming this holiday season. One example is all of the donations provided and volunteering happening at the Glen Ellyn Food Pantry. District 41 Chief Communications Officer Erika Krehbiel saw it first hand as she helped organize the abundance of food at the pantry with the Glen Ellyn Rotary Club this week. Please note the Winter Wishes list below for items most needed at the pantry. Thank you to all who help feed our District 41 families in need.
