From School Administration
Dear Lisbon Families,
We enjoyed celebrating our Lisbon family Veterans and the Mount Airy Patriot Guard Veterans on Veterans Day this past Monday! It was great to spend the morning celebrating with them and chatting with our Veterans over breakfast. A big thank you to our PTA for partnering with us so we could provide a hot breakfast for all our visiting Veterans and their families.
Happy National School Psychology Week to our amazing school psychologist, Mr. Verghese! We are thankful for all his hard work and dedication to support staff, students, and families!
We look forward to our continued partnership in your child's education, and we are excited to see you in school next week during American Education Week!

New Information
Fall Picture Retake - November 21st
We will be welcoming Classic Photography back on Thursday, November 21st for Picture Retake Day. This is an opportunity for students who were absent on Fall Picture Day in October to have their photos taken. In addition, any families who were not satisfied with the original photo may choose to have a retake done.
For those students who were not present on the original day (due to absence or not yet being enrolled) and are having their picture taken for the first time this school year:
- Print this order form for your child to bring with them on November 21st.
For those students who need a retake because you were not satisfied with the original photo:
- Your child should bring the original photo package, including the original envelope and all picture products, to turn into the photographer when they come to sit for a new picture. You do not need to fill out a new order form.
If you have any questions, please contact the main office.
CogAT Testing for All 3rd Graders
This year, the Howard County Public School System will be administering the Cognitive
Abilities Test (CogAT) to all students in grade 3. The CogAT is a group-administered abilities test that measures students’ reasoning abilities, which they develop through in-school and out-of-school experiences. It is not designed to test a student’s academic achievement, but their potential.
All students in Grade 3 will participate in the testing. The CogAT will be administered on Wednesday, December 4th, Thursday, December 5th, and Friday, December 6th. No special preparation is required. Just send your child to school ready to learn as you do daily.
The Gifted and Talented Education Program will use the data from the CogAT as one criterion for placement into fourth grade Gifted/Talented mathematics classes and middle school Gifted/Talented content classes. Students’ individual scores will be reported to parents in late February/early March.

In addition, each related arts teacher will provide open office hours if you have any general questions or concerns about their specific instructional area.
