Sports Performance & Athletic Training:
As Winter sports begin to wind down, there will be quite a number of athletes that will be transitioning from their Winter sport to a Spring sport. It is important for these Student-Athletes to take the proper time to recharge, before jumping into the next Season. Athletes are permitted 5 days off between seasons, before resuming their next sport. For those that have endured a long season, to not take off the proper time, may cause an increase in Mental Stress, Increased chances of injury and possible burn-out. While parents may feel that their child needs to be at the first practice, coaches are not to hold this time off against the athletes. This can relieve stress for the athlete and parent and allow the athlete time to recover and feel like a normal student for a few days.
