Career Story:
In 2013 I started teaching at Tri-City United High School about an hour SW of North High School. I started their engineering program and have expanded it to include 3 different courses; principles of engineering, introduction to engineering design, and computer integrated engineering. I started the robotics club where we have gone to state the last 4 years, and made it to nationals twice. In 2019 I was voted teacher of the year by TCU high school students.

MIT Graduate-Led AI Project Mentorship Opportunity (Beginner Friendly, Winter 2021)
Inspirit AI is a 25-hour enrichment program that introduces middle and high school students to fundamental artificial intelligence concepts in order to work through socially impactful projects in areas including art, healthcare, education, and more. Developed and taught by our team of graduate students from Stanford and MIT, students receive a personalized, interdisciplinary learning experience with a student-instructor ratio of 5:1, and custom curriculum appropriate for complete beginners to more advanced students. What is an APPRENTICESHIP?
Apprenticeship is an earn-as-you-learn workforce training model. You’ll receive classroom instruction and on-the-job training to provide the industry-specific knowledge needed to perform highly skilled work. Apprentices earn a salary as they train and the process is structured to allow for a healthy, work-life balance. ACE Mentor Progam: STUDENTS WANTED
Are you interested in a hands-on exploration opportunity in Architecture, Construction, and Engineering?
The ACE Mentor Program is open to any high school student who has the curiosity and drive to learn about a career in design and construction — from contracting and engineering to architecture and landscaping.
Already, thousands of students have enjoyed the exciting projects, informative field trips and other engaging activities that make up the ACE experience.

The ACE Mentor program will start in December. They will meet every Wednesday in room 321 from 3:30-5:30.

Century College Aims to Expand Workers in the Solar Industry with Target Corporation Solar Scholarship Program
Target Corporation is providing Century College with a $100,000 grant to create
the Target Corporation Solar Scholarship program. The program provides financial support to more than 20 newly enrolled students of color and women enrolling in the Solar and Renewable Energy program at Century College for Fall Semester 2021 through scholarships for tuition and supplies. The scholarship will help address a critical worker shortage in the solar and renewable energy field, one of the fastest-growing job sectors in the coming decade.
Century College offers two credentials in Solar and Renewable Energy, which qualify for the Target Corporation Solar Scholarship program, including a 16-week Solar Assessor certificate and a two-year Energy Technical Specialist Associate in Applied Science degree.
Additional scholarships are also available for students interested in the solar and renewable energy program. With affordable tuition rates and financial aid available, Century College seeks to help our students avoid student loan debt while earning a certificate or degree in the high-demand, high wage solar and renewable energy field.
