Key Stage 2 class of the week is 3B with 98% attendance - well done!
Once more, here is the link to the attendance page of the school website which has information on the Penalty Notice system. Ultimately, more than 2 penalty notices could result in the council taking you to court and a criminal record. We really do not want any of our families to have to go through this.

Uniform
We have noticed that an increasing number of pupils are, once again, coming to school in clothing which is not school uniform. Although you might think uniform is not important, it contributes to the school's high standards. Once uniform standards begin to slip, you often find that other aspects of behaviour can begin to deteriorate too. A reminder that your child will be challenged if they are wearing incorrect uniform and, where possible, we will provide them with the appropriate clothing. We appreciate that sometimes there are genuine reasons why your child might be in the incorrect uniform for example, their school shoes have broken so your child is in trainers until the weekend when they are replaced. If this is the case, please just let us know. Thank you for your support in this.
The link below will take you to the uniform page of the school website which has pictures of all acceptable and examples of unacceptable items.
Parking
Irresponsible and dangerous parking continues to be an issue around school. Local residents and passers by have been subjected to verbal abuse by some of our parents and carers when challenged. This of course horrifies us. We know that parking around school is incredibly hard and have raised this with the Council on many occasions. However, please can we ask you to be respectful of permit parking only zones and to drive sensibly when near to school. Below is a letter which was sent to school. We will send further information out in separate pings.
Where the Wild Things Are!
Year 1 have been enjoyng their work based on the book 'Where the Wild Things Are'. They even became 'wild things' for a period of time....!
World Book Day
World Book Day is fast approaching and, this year, will take place on Thursday 6th March. We will send out further information separately but, once again, we will be inviting pupils to dress up as a character from a book/ story as we know this is popular amongst most pupils! Please don't spend a lot of money on costumes - we will send home some ideas for outfits which can be put together from things you probably already have at home.
Useful Information
Emotional literacy refers to the ability to recognise, understand and express our feelings effectively. It plays a crucial role in strengthening a child's well-being by enhancing their relationships and resilience. However, emotional literacy can present challenges for some and does not always come naturally. The guide which is linked below offers some practical tips on supporting children with this skill.
We hope you all have a lovely weekend and we will see you on Monday.
