Congratulations to the WHS Boys Basketball Team on a Historic Season
District Solo & Ensemble Results
The following Westwood High School music students participated and received ratings at District Solo and Ensemble festival on Saturday, March 8th at Kingsford High School. Students who participate are required to perform a prepared piece and are judged on a scale of 1 to 4 with 1 being the highest rating. Students who perform a Class A piece are eligible to be nominated for state competition at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay on Saturday, May 3rd. Those nominated ensembles or solos receive a *1 rating.
Congratulations to these students for all their hard work and this great achievement!!

WHS Students Perform at Annual Chorus Festival
On Tuesday March 11th, the Westwood High School Chorus participated in the WSMA Chorus Festival. The festival was held at Houghton High School with 4 other choruses from across the U.P. in attendance. The chorus’s performance was judged on its quality of performance and musicianship. 33 students from Westwood performed and the ensemble was rated on a scale of 1 to 4, with 1 being the highest rating and 4 the lowest. The pieces performed at festival were varied and rigorous which exemplifies the work ethic our students exhibit on a daily basis. A big congratulations to the chorus students for their dedication and hard work!
HOSA Students Have Started their Clinicals!
HOSA students recently started their clinical work. Students spend time with different health care agencies to get some real world experience in their desired field. What a great opportunity for our students!
WHS Students Attend YooperCon at NMU
NMU held its annual YooperCon last week where high school students and teachers had the opportunity to explore exciting cybersecurity career opportunities with multiple hands on activities and career information sessions throughout the day. Attention Seniors!!
Time is running out for the Krispey Kreme Fundaraiser. Orders need to be turned in to the office by Tuesday, March 18th. Keep in mind the proceeds from the fundraiser go toward the senior all-nighter. I do recall anyone asking the principal if he would like to purchase any donuts😀!
Attention Juniors and Parents/Guardians
There will be a meeting on Thursday, April 3rd at 6:30pm at Negaunee High School for any Junior and their parent/guardian who are interested in learning more about post secondary options. If you have questions about the meeting please reach out to the counseling department at WHS.
