Grade Level Teams & Letters
Kindergarten
Next week, letters will be sent to all kindergarten families whose children have completed the screening and registration process. These letters, sent from the Office of Early Childhood Education at our Central Office in Bolton, will provide information about your child's classroom placement, along with a letter from their teacher. Stay tuned!
Supplies for all students
All students utilize the following items:
- Standard size backpack
- Refillable water bottle (no glass please)
- Lunch box and/or snack bag
Families without access to these items can confidentially contact the school for assistance. Local organizations donate these supplies when they can and are eager to share them with those in need. For help, please contact Mrs. Frommer (jfrommer@nrsd.net) or Nurse Lyndsey (lkilduff@nrsd.net).
School Hours
Regular School Day: 8:35 am - 3:05 pm
Early Release Day: 8:35 am - 12:15 pm
Students arriving after 8:35 must check in the office for a tardy slip as attendance is taken promptly at 8:35 in the classrooms.
Buses
Dee Bus Co. is our dedicated bus transportation provider. Their team is diligently working on the new school year's routes and will provide them to us soon to review. After we review the routes, we will share them with families via email.
Students will ride the bus to and from their registered home address only. For any questions or concerns regarding your child's bus stop, do not hesitate to contact Dee Bus Co. directly at 978-733-1047 or through email at nkelly@deebus.com.
Families may choose not to use the school bus service and instead drive their student(s) to and from school using the parent pick-up and drop-off lines. Additional information on this process will be provided later in the summer.
Returning Student Registration
Next week, Returning Student Registrations will be emailed to families whose children attended MRE in previous years. We kindly request that you complete the RSR as soon as possible, as it provides essential information needed by the school. Please ensure that phone numbers, emails, and any other relevant details are up to date. Thank you for your prompt attention!
Summer Reading
Students entering 1st - 5th grade in the fall of 2024 are encouraged to participate in the MRE's summer reading log. Each student will receive a hardcopy from their teacher on move-up day.
Please see the PDF for more details.
From the Health Office
Plan ahead for Breakfast and Snack everyday
Healthy eating is crucial for effective learning. Without well-balanced meals and snacks, children may struggle to focus in school. Daily breakfast offers numerous benefits, including maintaining a healthier body weight, enhancing attention and memory, and improving overall health and well-being. Poor nutrition can negatively impact all these areas.
In some classes, there is no morning snack based on their schedule, which means your child might not eat until lunchtime. Please encourage your child to have breakfast every morning.
Some tips may include:
Plan breakfast the night before
Encourage eating a variety of food from all of the food groups (fruit, vegetables, whole grains, dairy, protein)
Encourage your child to eat a rainbow of colors
Eat together as a family
Have grab and go options available
Breakfast bars
Yogurt
Nuts
Muffins
Fresh or dried fruit
Think of nontraditional breakfast options
Leftovers
Breakfast shakes
In addition to eating a regular breakfast, children should also come to school with a healthy snack every day. Avoiding processed foods or food with added sugars helps to keep your child full longer and helps improve their nutritional intake and overall well-being.
Some snack ideas can include:
Fruits & vegetables
Cheese sticks and crackers
Granola bars
Yogurt
Popcorn
Rice cakes
