AMHS Weekly Update
March 25-30, 2024
Upholding Uniform Standards at AMHS
We've noticed a recent uptick in students arriving at school out of uniform, and this is becoming a significant concern for us. Our uniform policy serves as a crucial tool in identifying students who are enrolled at our school, and it's essential that all students adhere to it.
We've observed instances where students, including members of the AMHS athletic teams, are wearing hoodies inside the building, which is not in line with our uniform policy. Additionally, some students are arriving in sweatsuits, which are not part of the approved uniform.
We kindly request that you have a conversation with your child about the importance of adhering to the AMHS uniform policy on a daily basis. Outerwear should be hoodless and in solid white, hunter green, navy blue, or black (denim is not permitted). Furthermore, students should always have their Arabia Mountain High School polo shirt underneath any outerwear.
It's important to emphasize that students are expected to be in full uniform every day. To reinforce this expectation, we will be conducting periodic uniform sweeps throughout the remainder of the semester. In the event that a student is found to be out of uniform, they will be asked to contact their parents to bring them the appropriate attire. Repeated violations of the uniform policy will result in disciplinary consequences.
Thank you for your cooperation in ensuring that all students adhere to the uniform policy. Your support in this matter is greatly appreciated.

DeKalb County School District’s Volunteer Training
Volunteering at Arabia Mountain High School
Parent involvement has been the key to the continued success of the students at Arabia Mountain High School. Each year Arabia Mountain High School parents/guardians must complete 10 hours of volunteer service hours each year to maintain enrollment at AMHS. Parents can volunteer at the school or school events to earn their volunteer hours or provide donations of $105.00 ($10.50 = 1 volunteer hour).
It is the responsibility of the coach/sponsor of the organization to provide the list of their parent volunteers and hours to Ms. Ham at the conclusion season or event. Parents need to be sure they are signing in at all events to ensure an accurate account of their volunteer hours. Please click the file below to see some of the ways you can earn your volunteer hours. We look forward to seeing you at AMHS!!!!
