Weekly Update February 14, 2025
Strive Center for Autism
New skills in January!
The Tree of Possibilities is more than just a logo at Strive Center! We celebrate all the little victories - for every new skill a child learns, we give him a leaf or an apple sticker to put on his very own Tree of Possibilities poster. We keep one poster here at the center, next to his table, and one goes home, so families can celebrate all the little victories too. In this first month of the new year, the children have already learned 246 new skills! What a great start to 2025!
Brighton center ONLY closed on Monday, February 17th
Our Brighton center will be closed on Monday for a Professional Development Day. We will be providing a re-certification course for our staff in Professional Crisis Management, or PCM. This course helps to ensure that our staff are equipped for a wide variety of situations with children, and staff learn de-escalation, crisis management, and re-integration techniques. We will conduct two more PCM courses later this year, one re-certification for Burton staff, and one two day certification course for newer staff members.
Additional Schedule Change: Brighton ONLY closed on Thursday, March 20th
We will be closing our Brighton center for one additional day on Thursday, March 20th. This will allow us to free up enough staff from both buildings for the two day certification course described above. We will have our more experienced Brighton therapists work as "guest" therapists in Burton that day, so families will see some different faces there!
Meet the Team!
Danyelle, Lead Therapist
We are so pleased to announce that Danyelle is now a Lead Therapist in Burton! She will work alongside Greta to provide our team of RBTs with more support and guidance.
Danyelle worked as a behavioral technician for one year before starting at Strive in August of 2020. Danyelle worked as an RBT at Strive for several years before becoming a Lead Therapist in January of 2025.
Danyelle attended University of Michigan-Flint. She graduated in December of 2023 with a Bachelors of Science in Psychology and a minor in Early Childhood Education.
In her free time, Danyelle enjoys painting and drawing. She also likes to go hiking with her dogs and spend time with family and friends.
