OLVCS Updates
September 5, 2024
Dear OLVCS Families,
Yesterday started slow after the long weekend, however we were back in our groove before 2nd period! Hang on though, next week will be our first 5 day week. At lunch today some MS boys were discussing the pros of a 4 day week. 😂 I did explain the length of the year would be quite different!
Some notes on dismissal:
If you know of a change in your child’s regular dismissal (appointment etc) please use the parent notepad distributed in the family envelope
If there is a change in the dismissal plan the day of; please call and email Mary Cawley before 1:30; by 2:00 she is alerting the teachers of all changes (teachers may not check email during the school day)
Upper Elementary & MS Parents please do not text your child of dismissal changes, it gets confusing when the teachers and staff are unaware of these plans, we then have to make a call to confirm, which can delay the drop-off line or buses
Thank you for your help!
As I mentioned in the last Updates a lot happens over the summer with parent help too! Thank you to the following parents for your help in making these events a success.
Used Uniform Sale: Mary Boyle, lead and also, Mallory Carroll, Michelle Darnell, Suzanne Hahn, Malissa Martin, Chelsea Mellett , Mary Beth Seprish, Cassie Vincent, and Kate Woodruff!
Family Picnic: Ashley Page, and also Mallory Carroll, Sarah Dombroski, Mary Beth Seprish, Theresa Hunter and all the helpers stacking chairs, moving tables, and taking the garbage out!
Thank you to Dave Sillner, he painted lockers, completed PreSchool projects, and even spread mulch around the playground. Chris and Melanie Smith built their arm muscles spreading mulch too, thank you!
School Photos: Wednesday, October 30th
We have switched photographers this year and will be using Lifetouch this year. (FYI)
Texting: We are asking teachers to not communicate by text to parents for privacy and security reasons. Therefore we are asking you to email teachers with your praise and concerns.
Make it a Great Day!
