LEAD: Volunteer Management Education & Training
Volunteers provide nonprofits with their time in exchange for the opportunity to make a difference within their community. The importance of volunteers, and the value that they provide, has increased the need to strategically engage, recruit, and manage them. Through our training program, Volunteer Fairfax allows our community to invest in the professional development of leaders of volunteers as they become more effective at managing their volunteers.
CONNECT: Community Conversations
Advancing an equitable and just community is more complex than volunteering occasionally. It takes intentional acts by many who can influence change. Volunteer Fairfax commits to examining our personal journeys, exploring the role that leaders and organizations play in advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion, and realizing how racial disparities are tied to our systems and communities through a series of Community Conversations.
MOBILIZE: Building Our Beloved Community Together
Our goal for the 2022 MLK, Jr. Weekend of Serice was to inspire volunteers across all generations to observe what is going on, ask questions, dream about how things could be different, and then step up and serve! Seeing all the volunteers step up to participate reminds us of Martin Luther King, Jr.’s quote “We can be great because we can serve.”
