OUR ALTERNATIVE EDUCATION CLASSIFIED EMPLOYEE OF THE YEAR WINNER
Dear Parents/Guardians:
We are fast approaching the end of Grading Period 6 on Friday March 21. Please check Google Classroom and the Infinite Campus Portal for up to date grades and assignments. If you have questions, please talk with your child , subject area teachers, and counselor Kruse. We don't want any surprises when grades are posted. If students fail a class, their graduation date can be extended. Students need to check with Ms. Kruse and their graduation plan if they don't pass a class. There is no In Person Access Friday March 14. There is In Person Access Friday March 21.
Grading Period 7 is Monday March 24 - Friday May 2 with 20 Del Days and 5 In Person Fridays.
Students that are hoping to attend a comprehensive school during the 25-26 school year should put in a transfer request to the comprehensive school of their choice. Schools are in the process of requesting classes for next school year. If students know they would like to be part of the comprehensive school community, they should make this request as soon as possible as it will become more difficult to be in the classes of their choice, the further into spring we go.
Transfer requests can be put in HERE.
Seniors: Have you completed the Free Application for Student Aid? (FAFSA) Many schools are requiring this as a step in enrollment to choose classes. Even though the form is available until June 30, 2025, don't be the last to complete it. Less money will be available the longer students wait. The form has become much more user friendly in the last couple of years. Students will need their parents' tax information and other important demographics. See Ms. Kruse if you have any questions in filling out the form, or want assistance in filling out the form.

DEL AMIGO HIGH SCHOOL
Dear parents/caregivers of Del Amigo 11th and 12th grade students,
Every year, California students take several statewide tests. When combined with other measures utilized throughout the school year, these tests give us all a more complete picture of your student’s learning. Parents/caregivers and teachers can use the results to identify where your student is doing well and how to better support your student by targeting where they might need more help to succeed. To learn more about who will take these tests, the types of CAASPP formats, and what California learning standards are tested, please review this summary of CAASPP testing.
The following links provide information about CAASPP testing preparation, specific practice tests, and how to interpret score reports:
A Parent Guide to Understanding: The Smarter Balanced Summative Assessments
Starting Smarter: Understand Your Child’s Student Score Report
The California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) achievement data serves as an academic progress report for your child(ren), and it helps SRVUSD schools broadly summarize success in student achievement. We encourage you to ensure your student’s participation in CAASPP testing, as we also use this data to assess the overall effectiveness of SRVUSD’s instructional programs, curriculum, and intervention. Some students may take the California Alternative Assessment (CAA) if served by an Individualized Education Program (IEP). Families would know if this were the case through working with your case manager during the IEP process.
The California Department of Education (CDE) includes a variable to calculate overall achievement levels for each individual school, as well as the district overall. The state expects a 95% participation rate from each school. If that is not achieved, the state will fill in the scores with the lowest attainable scaled score until that participation rate is reached. The result is that any school that does not reach the 95% participation rate will have lower overall school scores. And as participation rates go down, so will those overall school scores.
The Del Amigo testing schedule will follow our regular bell schedule with school starting at 9:00 am and ending at 1:23 pm (1:40 pm on Weds.). Students will test in their 2nd and 3rd period on Tuesday, April 15 and 4th and 5th period on Wednesday, April 16. If a student needs more time they will be able to finish during school hours on Thursday and Friday.
If you have any questions or would like more information about your school’s upcoming testing schedule, please contact your student’s administration.
