The Week Ahead
A Preview of the week 5/20-5/24
Principal's Corner:
It is hard to imagine we are down to the final 4 weeks of the 2023-2024 School Year! As the school year inches closer to the finish line, it is important to discuss with your child appropriate behavior for school. Often times towards the end of the year is when we see an increase of disciplinary referrals. In addition to traditional consequences, those students with behavioral issue towards the end of the year will not be able to participate in class trips, field day, and other reward activities.
To ensure a productive and positive learning environment for all students, we kindly request your support in reminding your child(ren) about the importance of:
- Respect: Treating teachers and classmates with courtesy and following directions promptly.
- Focus: Remaining engaged in lessons and completing assigned tasks on time.
- Positive Communication: Addressing concerns or asking questions in a respectful manner.
- Following School Rules: This includes adhering to safety protocols, behaving appropriately in hallways and common areas, and respecting the learning environment for themselves and others.
We understand that behavior fluctuations can sometimes occur at this age. However, it's important for students to understand there are consequences for disruptive behavior. These consequences may include detention, parent contact, or a meeting with the administration, depending on the severity of the issue. We believe strong school-to-home communication is essential for student success. If you have any questions or require further clarification on our expectations, please do not hesitate to contact your child's teacher or the main office directly.
By working together, we can ensure a successful end to the school year and set a positive tone for the upcoming year.
Thank you for your continued support.
As we move into the warmer months, we would like to emphasize the following points regarding proper school attire:
Footwear: Flip flops, sandals or any shoe without a heel or strap across the heel are not allowed for safety reasons. Students should wear shoes that provide proper support and protection for their feet.
Shirts: Crop tops or shirts that expose the belly are not allowed. All shirts should cover the entire torso. Shirts should not include any inappropriate messages.
Shorts: Shorts must be of appropriate length. Extremely short shorts or shorts that expose undergarments are not allowed.
Any student who does not adhere to these guidelines will be required to call home to have items dropped off to school to meet the guidelines.
