Monthly Memo from the Principal
Mrs. Robbins- May 2025
While it may be raining NOW, we know the SUNSHINE is on its way!
Each and every year May kind of sneaks up on all of us and that could not be more true than this year! If I haven't said this enough lately, let me take this time to tell you all how much I love being the principal at Pleasant Hill Elementary. I adore our students and love our staff and community very much. You all make my job so fun and fun-filled!
It has been a very eventful year and we have all had some times of challenge and growth. I am proud of each and every one of our students and our hard working staff. As an adult, I have learned so much from our students. They love and appreciate people in ways that we don't always experience as an adult. And for that, I am very thankful. Looking forward to a strong finish from everyone!
The last day of school is Friday, May 23 and it is an early-release day. We get out of school at 11:30 AM and we WILL be serving sack lunches on this day.
Your child's teacher will share any specific end-of-year celebrations that they will be hosting and information about our PHE Student-Led Conferences.
We are also currently working to hire any spots that are open due to retirement, grade level growth, or natural attrition (people moving, changing jobs, etc.). We will be sending out an email in August letting you know more about our 2025-2026 staff and grade level changes. Please let me know if you have any questions or have any needs related to your child's placement for next year. Thank you to all of our families who filled out our All About My Child Form for next year. We will use that input to better place each of our students.
Please let us know if you have any questions or need anything!

APEX Obstacle Fun Run- Thursday, May 1- COMPLETE!
Our huskies have been working hard to learn about what an amazing LEADER they can be from our APEX staff. APEX partners with schools to help teach students about leadership and also to fundraise to help support campus initiatives. The funds we raise will go directly into our school budget for beautification projects, staff development, resources, and teacher needs. Thank you to all of our parents who have volunteered to help and a HUGE thank you to all who have donated!
We LOVE and APPRECIATE our PHE teachers and staff!
What a year it has been for everyone, but especially our PHEnomenal staff! Our PHE Husky Helpers have provided the flyer below to help guide parents on some fun things they can send teachers this week. They will also be providing our staff food the last week of school. Our PHE Sunshine Committee is providing a lunch for our teachers on Friday. In addition, you can find our teacher and staff's favorite things here.
Email Heather Robbins at heather.robbins@leanderisd.org if you can't find information on your teacher.
Show Nurse Heidi some LOVE!!!
Nurse Heidi has been an anchor this year and kept us all on track with following all of our LISD health protocols to keep us all healthy and safe. Words are not enough, but let's try...send her a quick email if you would like with words of thankfulness, love, and encouragement! Her email address is heidi.rodriquez@leanderisd.org.
PHE 5th Grade Crossing Over Ceremony
More information will be shared via 5th grade teachers. Please use this PHE RSVP link to help us speed up the process. If someone has NOT been on our campus before, we will still have to scan their identification and the RSVP will not speed the process up for them.
We are so proud of these students and cannot wait to celebrate their accomplishments! Please reach out to your teacher if you have any questions.
Attention current 5th grade parents...
Please see below for the Middle School immunization requirements:
1 dose of Tdap is required IF at least 5 years have passed since the last dose of tetanus-containing vaccine.
AND
1 dose of quadrivalent meningococcal conjugate vaccine is required on or after the student’s 11th birthday.
Note: If a student received the vaccine at 10 years of age, this will satisfy the requirement.
If they have already been updated you can forward them to me and I can update their clinic chart. Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions or concerns.
Respectfully,
Heidi Rodriguez, RN, BSN
Please return your books!
All guided reading (small books, readers, chapter books, etc.) from your child's teacher are due by Friday, May 9th. Please see your teacher if you have any questions.
