All Suffolk Public Schools buildings will remain closed tomorrow, Thursday, January 23, 2025. The school division will implement a Virtual Work Day for staff. Maintenance and custodial personnel should report to their buildings at 9 a.m.
The scheduled instructional staff Professional Learning/Clerical Day will be virtual. All secondary staff professional learning will follow the same professional learning schedule, with links to each session provided in the original professional learning document and on the staff portal. Staff must use their SPS login credentials to access each session. Elementary staff will receive additional information from their building principal. Building principals will communicate any building level plans directly with their staff.
Biometrics will be canceled and messaging will be released on next steps once we return to normal workday hours. The SPS Pharmacy will remain closed for January 23, 2025.
At this time, no decision has been made regarding schedule changes for staff for Friday, January 24. Staff should assume Friday, January 24, is a regularly scheduled Professional Development/Clerical Day, unless otherwise announced. Any updates, including potential closures or schedule changes, will be communicated through official SPS channels.
