We are looking for a Homeroom Parent Coordinator for each class!
The primary responsibility of Homeroom Parent Coordinators is to work closely with the teacher in organizing the 3 class Socials for the 2024/25 school year. All socials run from 2-3 PM. Prior to each Social, you will create an email to be sent home to all the parents in your class. This is usually sent from the teacher directly to the parents of each child in their class with your name as contact.
If you are interested in becoming a Homeroom Parent Coordinator for your child’s classroom, please fill out the Google Form below by Friday, September 6th. One HR Parent Coordinator will be randomly selected per class. Parents can only be selected as a HR Parent Coordinator for one classroom per school year. The HSA Board will contact you by Sept. 10th if you have been selected. If you have any questions, please email the HSA Board at board@salfordhillshsa.org.
Homeroom Parent Coordinators are responsible for organizing and supervising the 3 classroom socials throughout the school year:
- Fall Social on Thursday Oct. 31st at 2pm
- Winter Social on Friday, December 20th at 2pm
- Valentine's Day Social on Thursday, February 13th at 2pm
The HR Parent Coordinator will be responsible for submitting the following to the teacher a minimum of one (1) week prior to each Social for approval: (1) the names of the 4 Social Volunteers attending the social and (2) the plans for the social including the craft to be made, games to be played, and food/drinks to be served.
- A maximum of 4 total volunteers (including the HR Parent Coordinator) may attend each social. A form will go home soon in your child’s communicator where parents may send in a $5 donation and indicate their interest in being a Social Volunteer. The Socials are to be divided as equally as possible amongst the parents. However, if an amicable decision cannot be reached regarding which parent(s) will attend each Social, disputes can be taken to the HSA Board. Classroom teachers are NOT to be involved in this matter.
- No siblings are permitted to attend the socials. Thank you for understanding! As always, we appreciate your willingness to help at Salford Hills!
Thank You,
Salford Hills Home & School Association
