Other information:Zero-Hour Course Interest
Parents, we are sending this form to gauge interest levels in zero-hour courses for AP Lang and AP Lit for the 24-25 school year. This would take place from 7:45-8:35 AM before school and would potentially allow for your student to take an additional elective course during the regular school day. Please fill out your interest below and we appreciate your feedback. Please note, these may not be the only zero hour course offerings we consider for next year, but they will serve as a good data point regarding future decisions.
Notes from the Nurse - Medication Pickup
If your student has medicine in the school clinic, please make sure they have enough to finish the school year. Any extra medicine should be picked up by parents by the last week of school. We are unable to store medication, including inhalers, over the summer. Thank you for your partnership!
Coming Up
The Lovejoy Visual Art program is excited to announce the opening of the 16th annual LJVA AP Studio Art Exhibition on May 18th from 5 - 9! We cannot wait to share this wonderfully diverse and thoughtful collection of work with our community. The range of approaches, processes, and creativity behind these 16 artists' work is a beautiful testament to the legacy of Lovejoy Visual Arts. Please join us Saturday, May 18th from 5 - 9 pm to honor these artists and their work while gaining insight into their personal investigation and ideation. At the exhibition, you have the opportunity to meet the artists, hear about their work and process, and purchase available artwork. We are also excited to invite you to participate in our yearly charity auction of original work. This year our auction will be benefiting the Vogel Alcove, a non-profit organization on a mission to help young children overcome the lasting and devastating effects of homelessness. The Lovejoy Visual Art program strongly believes in using our gifts to give back to our larger community and would love for you to join us in this yearly tradition.

Senior Celebration Day!!
On Monday, May 20th, we will have the Senior Celebration at the high school during school hours. This event is a combination of events that are traditionally called “senior signing day” and “senior tailgate” in years past. Seniors can wear a shirt or jersey to showcase their future plans and should arrive at 11:45am. Seniors will group with their peers in the main gym at 12:45pm for a school-wide event to announce their post graduation plans. At 2:15pm, seniors and their families will enjoy a courtyard/parking lot celebration with food trucks including a taco truck and a shaved ice truck, yard games, and a photo booth! The event is free to seniors and they can pick up tickets to the food trucks at the photo booth in the courtyard. If parents wish to enjoy food truck items, they will be available for purchase. The senior celebration will conclude around 4pm.
**For those students who have purchased an optional tailgate parking spot, please be on the lookout for an email from the Senior Booster Club with your tailgate parking spot information and decorating details. Parents should park in the front parking lot and sign in as usual.**

Baseball - Leopards are AREA CHAMPS!
The Leopards were successful during Round 2 of the playoffs last week vs. Porter HS. Game 1 started but had to be postponed due to lightning/rain. The next day Game 1 resumed and the Leopards were victorious (3-2). Game 2 was played 30 min after Game 2 and the Leopards took care of business in Game 2 (4-1) leading to capturing the title of Area Champs!
The Leopards will continue Round 3 of playoffs this week vs. Hallsville. All games will be played at Forney HS. Come hit the road with us as we travel to a neutral site to play Hallsville HS and look to become Regional Champions.
Game 1: Thursday, May 16 at 7:00 pm (Forney HS). Game 2: Friday, May 17 at 7:00 pm (Forney HS). Game 3 (if needed) Saturday, May 18 at 1:00 pm (Forney HS)
Thank you to all of our fans who have hit the road this year to help support Leopard Baseball.
Spring Football Game
The Leopard football team finished its first spring football practice game under new head coach Todd Dodge. It has been a great spring with coaches teaching players a new offensive and defensive system and having some of our new coaches build relationships with our players. Our rising freshman have been watching a lot of our practices so they can get to know the coaches and players as well. We are excited for football season!
Softball
Lovejoy Softball ended their season this past Saturday after a tough battle with the Forney Jackrabbits. We finished the season with a record of 23-12-1, beating two #1 teams in Texas, accomplishing co-district champions (something that has not been done in ten years), and finishing as Regional Quarter-Finalists. We are SO proud of not only their accomplishments, but the heart and soul they poured into each other this season. These sixteen girls battled until the very end together. To our two seniors - we are SO proud of you and cannot wait to see you be successful in your future college careers. Congratulations on a wonderful season girls! We are Lovejoy proud of you!
