Parent-Teacher Conferences/Schedule Appointments TODAY

- This meeting is an informational meeting for parents interested in learning where Title I funds come from, how much of this funding our school receives, and how we utilize Title I funding at Rincon to directly benefit our students.
Thursday, September 19th: Parent Teacher Conferences 4:30-6:30 pm
- Please reach out to teachers via email to schedule 10-minute time slots to privately speak with teachers you would like to meet for a conference. Teacher emails can be found on the website at Faculty & Staff (tusd1.org) or on ParentVUE.
- Walk-ins are welcome, but you may have to wait until the teacher is free of pre-arranged appointments, so it is best to schedule a specific time to meet in advance, for your convenience.
Friday, September 20th: Student Half Day Release at 11:25 am
Student Picture Retakes
For any students grades 9-11 who missed picture day, there is a picture day retake scheduled for October 30th, in the library. Please mark your calendars to ensure student pictures are taken so every student who wants to be in the yearbook is included.
Yearbooks
Yearbooks are available for purchase at TouchBase Signin (intouchreceipting.com)
It is important to note that if a parent signed the Media Release form stating that a student’s picture cannot be shared, this means that their student will not be featured in the yearbook. If you would like your child to be in the yearbook but believe that you may have signed the form stating that the student’s picture cannot be shared in the media, you can contact our attendance to update the form. Every year we have a student upset because he/she was not in the yearbook, only to find that is because parents signed the media release form stating that the student’s picture cannot be released to the media. The yearbook is a form of media. We want everyone who wants to be included, to be included.

Traffic Concerns
Community members and residents in the area have reported that there is a problem with RUHS drivers speeding through the nearby Sierra Estates Neighborhood on Mountain View, 10th Ave, and Arcadia Ave to drop off students in both directions putting pedestrians at risk. Please remember that many families in the area have small children and/or elderly relatives. Use caution and exercise safety when communicating in the area for everyone’s safety.
Stranger Danger
Please speak with your students about being vigilant while walking to and from school. There have been reports of a man in Tucson who is driving around trying to get students to get into his car, by making it seem like it’s an emergency, and telling them to hurry and get in the car. If this happens to your student, please advise them never to get into a car with a stranger, to try to holler and catch the attention of anyone nearby to get help, and to report it to Rincon security or administration, so that we can notify TPD.
Athletics
Swim Team
Thank you to Coach Bill Thomas and Chris Kelaher for putting on a first-class swim meet to start the year!!!
Girls Volleyball Home Games
The RUHS Girls Volleyball team has 3 celebratory home games which the players have chosen spirit themes to add a fun element into the games.
Their next home game with a theme is on 9/26/24, with the theme of Tropical Night.
We encourage spectators to come and enjoy the action while wearing bright tropical themed clothing to support the team
Home volleyball games also feature a great snack bar as they utilize these funds to support the team.
Athletes interested in joining a Winter season sport: Wrestling, Basketball, Soccer
Start turning in your Athletic Clearance Packets as soon as possible to April Bull Calf located in the UHS office. Any returning athletes who qualify for financial assistance, have can begin filling out an EEF now. Don’t wait, to ensure you are ready to go for tryouts on day one!
All important information can be found on the athletics website: Athletics (tusd1.org)
How does athlete eligibility work?
Official grade pulls to check athlete eligibility will be conducted at each Progress Period and at the end of each Quarter (8 times a year). If a student-athlete has a failing grade at any of these checkpoints, they will be deemed ineligible to compete for two weeks, giving them an opportunity to raise any failing grades. Grade pulls for ineligible athletes will be pulled two weeks later. At that time, if the student-athlete has no failing grades, he/she will be reinstated to join competition.
