Raymond Central Public Schools
December 2024
From the Desk of the Superintendent...
Dear Raymond Central Community,
As we approach the holiday season, I want to take a moment to express my sincere appreciation
for the ongoing support from our community. Your dedication plays a vital role in the success of
our students. Winter activities are in full swing, our students are engaged in high-level learning,
and our educators are committed to ensuring a positive academic experience for all.
We have been fortunate with mild weather thus far, but as we move into December, we can
expect snow, ice, and colder temperatures. Please ensure your children are dressed warmly as the
weather becomes more extreme. In the event of weather-related delays or school closures, we
will communicate via text, social media, our website, and local news channels.
I would like to extend my gratitude to the parents, staff, community members, and students who
attended our recent board meeting, as well as the community forums held at Ceresco and
Valparaiso Elementary Schools. Your questions and feedback are invaluable and help us better
understand how to meet the needs of both our students and staff.
As we approach the holiday break, we look forward to several festive activities and events at our
schools, in addition to our athletic competitions. I encourage you to join us in supporting and
cheering on our students as they demonstrate their talents both inside and outside the classroom.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support of the Raymond Central School District.

District Health Information: Fall and Winter Virus Season is Here!
The viral season is upon us. There are many different viruses circulating around as usual this time of year. Some tips to stay healthy and keep each other healthy are hand Washing, getting rest, drinking fluids and staying home when ill. If your child has a temperature of 100 degrees or higher, stay home. If your child has vomited, has stomach pains, or loose stools in the last day, stay home. Let's enjoy the Holidays and our time at home by keeping ourselves and each other healthy! Please do not hesitate to reach out to the School Nurse Amanda Ehlers with anything.
PRESCHOOL NEWS/UPDATES
Taste-Testing for Thanksgiving
The 4 year old preschool enjoyed a Thanksgiving taste test. We tried turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, raw cranberries, and pumpkin pie with whip cream!
We collected individual data about what we liked. Later, we interpreted that data and graphed it.
It was a great experiment and time to try new things.

Momentum
Greetings Mustang Faithful.
I am so amazed at how fast our school years seem to go by. This year has been no exception. It seems only yesterday we opened the doors to start this journey. Here we are entering the Month of December. In another month we will be ushering the new year as well. I continue to be impressed at the efforts of our students and the dedication of our staff. Our family has been doing some great things this year. As we wind down 2024, I challenge everyone to raise the bar academically, and with respect to the programs we associate with and follow. The key to progress is having high expectations.
Winter activities are rolling and several activities are already preparing for District competitions. One-Act, Speech and Unified Bowling all have culminating competitions coming up soon. From what I have observed, they will do a great job representing Mustang Nation. We are hoping to continue to develop interest in our student activities and the positive momentum we have been experiencing this year. We want everyone to become involved. We will continue to encourage our students to excel in the classroom and then try something new. We look forward to hosting events where patrons can experience excellence aligned with our students.
We hope to further open avenues of communication where the public maximizes connectedness with the goings-on at Raymond Central. Our staff is dedicated to the increased communication opportunities and we encourage patrons to grow to expect it from our family as an operating standard. As always, we continue to post a lot of information on the school district website: www.rcentral.org. Frequent stops there will help ensure that you are not left under informed about anything happening at our wonderful school.
Enjoy December everyone. It is always full of promise. We will be busy as the semester winds down. Students are encouraged to challenge themselves to finish strong. Parents and guardians are encouraged to push your students to strive for the best in everything they do. Please be advised that we are closing the page on the first semester before the students and staff leave on December 20 for the holiday break. Our intention is to give both students and staff a well deserved rest going into the semester break without the need to worry about grades or assignments. See you in the hallways, in the classrooms, at the events, and out and about. Let’s go Mustangs! Be loud! Be proud! If you have questions or need information, feel free to contact the high school office by calling (402) 785-2615. #HighExpectations, #MustangPride, #BleedBlue
Educationally,
Mr. Lurz, Principal
