Counselor's Corner
In Lewisville ISD, the whole child is at the core of everything we do as a district, including our students' mental, emotional and physical health. With counselorson every campus, LISD knows parents want their children to receive an outstanding education, but more importantly, they want their children to be nurtured and cared for beyond just academics.
The Lewisville ISD Counseling and Social Work Department is grateful to partner with you to support the social emotional needs of all LISD students. We believe education on these issues is key to helping our students become happy, successful people.
Please review these flyers describing different social issues our students may face. If you have any areas that we may assist you or your student, please contact your student’s school counselor.
We appreciate the opportunity to work with your students.

Nurse Notes
Starting in September, nurse Kinley will be conducting state vision and hearing screenings. Each student will be pulled out of class for a short period of time to complete the screenings. The following screenings are required by the state of Texas; any problems identified will be reported to a parent/guardian.
Vision and Hearing Screenings: Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten, 1st grade, 3rd grade, 5th grade, 7th grade, and any student new to LISD
Spinal Screenings: In compliance with Health and Safety Code, Chapter 37, all students will undergo screening for abnormal spinal curvature according to the following schedule:
- Girls will be screened two times, once at age 10 (or fall semester of 5th grade), and again at age 12 (or fall semester of 7th grade)
- Boys will be screened one time at age 13 or 14 (or fall semester of 8th grade)
Acanthosis Nigricans: 1st grade, 3rd grade, 5th grade, and 7th grade will be screened for Acanthosis Nigricans, a condition that signals high levels of insulin in the body. This screening is done by looking at and feeling the skin on the back of the neck. If the first screening is positive, it will be followed by checking height, weight, and blood pressure.
If you prefer to have your student screened by your physician, or wish to request an exemption, please contact your school nurse.
Thank you so much! 🙂
Bus Information
If your child will be riding the bus, please download the app. Here Comes the Bus is a bus tracking software tool that allows you to see where the bus is in real time. Our district code is: 29501
Breakfast and Lunch
Talk to your child to see if they will buy breakfast or purchase a snack each day. Many students eat at home and then eat in the cafeteria. Snack or breakfast charges accrue and parents are unsure why there is an amount owed. The student meal purchase history access will be helpful to avoid extra charges.
Student Meal Purchase History: Families can now access the meal purchase history of their student online via Skyward Family Access. To see this information, families will log into Skyward Family Access and click on "District Links" in the upper right. For more information click HERE.
Menus: Due to supply chain issues, menus are subject to change, and may differ from the calendars below. Please visit lisd.nutrislice.com for interactive menus, nutritional information, and more.

Volunteer
Volunteers are an integral part of what we do every day in LISD.
LISD uses VOLY, a volunteer management system, to post volunteer opportunities and find volunteers. To volunteer, you will need to create a VOLY account by visiting lewisvilleisd.voly.org. (Please note: do not use Internet Explorer as your browser when using VOLY.) VOLY will send you customized e-mails with opportunities that may interest you for volunteering.
Cell Phone Policy
In order to focus our learning and instruction time with students, all elementary and middle school students will be required to put personal devices/cell phones away in the child’s backpack or designated location from the time they enter the building in the morning until the dismissal bell.
You can reach your students through their school email address, or by calling the front office.
If your student needs to reach you, they can send an email or call you from a classroom or office phone.
