FAC Weekly Update
January 13, 2024
Good Morning, FAC Family
The start of the second semester has had a little bit of everything, including a surprise eLearning day. Like all great artists, we just roll with it and adapt. Thank you all for being so flexible as we take on life's little surprises.
We'd like to take a moment to give a shout-out to the three FAC students who showcased their talents at YoungArts Competition Week in Miami - congratulations to Leah Rutherford (FAC Jazz and Voice), Brady Green (FAC Voice and Jazz), and Sun Clark (FAC Creative Writing) on their STELLAR performances that were livestreamed across the globe. Our students stood side-by-side with other outstanding young artists from across the globe and represented themselves, the FAC, and Greenville with poise and pride. We appreciate their parents and teachers for supporting them throughout this journey, and cannot wait to hear about the experiences they had in Miami!
Here's the latest from the halls of the FAC...
This Week's Student Leadership Lesson
3-2-1 Newsletter - Quotes from James Clear
3-2-1: Starting the new year the right way, how to stay focused, and a lesson on long-term thinking
3."New goals don't deliver new results. New lifestyles do. And a lifestyle is a process, not an outcome. For this reason, all of your energy should go into building better habits, not chasing better results."
2."A simple filter for managing your time: You're not focused enough unless you're mourning some of the things you're saying no to."
1."Don't worry about being the most interesting person in the room, just try to be the most interested person in the room.
- The interested person asks about others and leaves a good impression because people like talking about themselves.
- The interested person is genuinely curious about someone's craft and learns a lot about how things work.
- The interested person engages with more people and—because opportunities come through people—is more likely to catch a lucky break.
In general, the interested person learns more and tends to be well-liked. And in the long run, it's hard to keep down someone who is well-learned and well-liked."
Thank You, FAC Parents!
From the Parent Guild Board:
A HUGE Thank you goes out to our families for supporting our Holiday Staff Celebration. Your generosity made it possible to provide a lovely meal and special gift for our teachers, administration, and support staff. It was amazing how so many families chipped in, and we were overwhelmed by everyone responding to the ask.
We know we have the best of the best for our kids here at the FAC, and we are so fortunate to have so many families step forward to help recognize these adults making this happen.
THANK YOU!
