MERHS Summer Updates
Hello Everyone!
I hope you are all having a restful and enjoyable summer. We are gearing up for the 24-25 school year, and we are excited to welcome you back to school. Please take a look at the following information regarding the beginning of the year. As always, feel free to call or email me whenever you have a question or concern. Thank you for your support!
We are pleased to welcome the following new staff members to MERHS this year:
Samantha Pindara - Director of Guidance & College Counseling
We are excited to welcome Samantha Pindara as our next Director of Guidance and College Counseling. Samantha holds a Masters in Counseling from Rivier College and a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies from Salem State University. Samantha spent seven years prior to joining us in a school counselor role, primarily at Lynnfield High School. Samantha also brings experience from outside counseling, and has coached several high school sports. Ms. Pindara will inherit Ms. Low's caseload of students.
Harry Wagg - Band Teacher/Band Director (MS/HS)
Harry joins MERSD as the middle school band and music teacher and the high school band director. He worked for several years as the High School Instrumental Director and K-12 Fine & Performing Arts Coordinator for the Lynnfield Public Schools. Harry holds and M.Ed. with a music concentration from Boston University and a Bachelor of Music from Berklee College of Music.
Elizabeth Keane - School Nurse (MS/HS)
Elizabeth joins the middle/high school as our school nurse. She has been working as a nurse practitioner for the past fifteen years. Elizabeth holds a Master of Science in Nursing from Simmons College and a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of New Hampshire Durham.

Student Schedules
Students received their schedules prior to the end of the school year and were given the opportunity to meet with counselors and update selections. Aspen has been updated with teachers and room assignments. If there is an error in a schedule, please reach out to your counselors, Ms. Drinkwater, or Ms. Sgroi.
Parking Passes
Be on the lookout for an email from Mrs. Lumsden. Seniors can come to the main office at MERHS to purchase their parking pass from Tuesday, August 13th at 9am until Thursday, August 15th. Juniors will be allowed to purchase the remaining passes on Friday, August 16th at 9am.
First Days of School
We will begin with full days of school on Wednesday, August 28th and Thursday, August 29th. Students will have the opportunity to meet with all of their classes on those days. There is no school on Friday, August 30th or Monday, September 2nd.
Picture Day
Student picture day has been scheduled for Thursday, August 29th.
New Student Orientation
We have an orientation for 9th graders along with any new students to the building. This will take place on Tuesday, August 20th from 8:30-11:00 right here at MERHS! More information will follow. Again, all 9th grade students, along with any other students new to MERHS are welcome to attend this orientation.
Senior News
Seniors, you have received an email from our new Director, Ms. Pindara regarding senior boot camp. This two day seminar will be held August 15th and 16th from 8:30-11:30 in the cafeteria. Please use the community door located closest to the cafeteria. Please reach out and RSVP to the email Ms. Pindara sent so your counselors will be prepared to work with you.
We have some other exciting dates to share with seniors!
Senior Scholarship and Awards night is Wednesday, May 28th
Baccalaureate has been scheduled for Thursday, June 5th
Graduation will take place Friday, June 6th. It will be here before you know it!
Open House
Open House for MERHS is scheduled for Thursday, September 5th from 6-7:30pm. We will begin in the auditorium, followed by the chance for you to follow your student's schedule.
