PRINCIPAL'S UPDATE
Dear Eagle Crest Families,
We are thrilled to announce an exciting event that showcases the incredible coding talents of our students here at Eagle Crest: "Eagles Can Code"! This event is the culmination of the hard work and dedication our students and teachers have put into learning and mastering coding skills throughout the year during our school-wide coding days on Late Start Wednesdays.
Mark your calendars for Monday, May 13th, from 3:30 to 4:30 pm, as we invite you to join us for an afternoon of coding fun and celebration right here at Eagle Crest. Please note that students will be dismissed as usual at 3:10 pm, and you are welcome to enjoy some outdoor time until the event begins at 3:30 pm. For the safety of all students, we kindly request that each student be accompanied by an adult during the event.
During "Eagles Can Code," you'll have the opportunity to explore your students’ coding projects firsthand in their classrooms. Additionally, we invite you to participate in a coding challenge alongside your student, fostering a shared experience and deeper understanding of their learning journey.
But that's not all! Our mobile lab will be stationed in the bus loop, offering a hands-on experience with various robots and coding activities for you to explore. And what's a celebration without treats? We'll have cupcakes for all attendees, and each student will receive a custom glitter sticker as a token of their participation. Plus, every student will be entered into a drawing to win their very own Mini Sphero or Logitech Crayon!
We also invite those who are available to lend a hand with setup and cleanup for the event. If you're interested in volunteering, please click HERE to sign up.
"Eagles Can Code" promises to be an event filled with excitement, learning, and celebration. We can't wait to see you there and share in the achievements of our talented students!
Warmly,
Amanda

Hello Eagle Crest Families,
As we all know, Colorado weather can be unpredictable and oftentimes very hot. To make sure everybody stays comfortable, we have updated the performance times to reduce the amount of time everyone is outside. If you have any questions or concerns, don't hesitate to contact us.
Thank you for your flexibility!

NEWS FROM THE LIBRARY
For those with library books at home, please help your student(s) find the books and bring them back to school. Students have found books under beds, in cars, behind sofas and sometimes even mixed in with their own books!
All library books need to be returned to the library by Monday, May 20th. After that date, books will be considered lost and lost book fees will be assigned to your students account in Infinite Campus which you can pay online.
If your student is working on a project for school and needs the book a bit longer, they may keep their books until the project is turned in.
If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact me at beckett_joan@svvsd.org or at (303) 485-6073 ext. 22313
Thank you for helping to return books to the library for other students to read and enjoy!
