The mission of Maria Montessori Academy is to provide an individualized education that promotes academic excellence founded on the authentic philosophy of Dr. Maria Montessori.

Dear Families,

Amazing things are happening! Our Junior High and Elementary Student Councils are busy planning exciting events for the year! Our enrichment groups are supporting our highest performing students and our intervention groups support the students that need additional practice. At MMA, every student is on their own learning plan and gets exactly the instruction they need to progress and become a contributing member to the community!

This week we reached 89% attendance. Did you know, missing 10%, or about 2 days each month over the course of a school year, can make it harder to learn to read, and build relationships with peers? Additionally, absences and tardiness can affect the whole classroom if the teacher has to repeat lessons for those that are consistently absent. You can view additional attendance information here.

Next Friday, October 4, students will have the opportunity to engage in learning activities from home. Teachers will spend the day examining the data we’ve collected from our beginning of year assessments and planning for individual and small group lessons that will continue to develop the academic and social/emotional performance of our students. Teachers will also use the time to plan for upcoming parent/family-teacher conferences. Students should NOT come to the school building on Friday, October 4th. Please see your teacher’s communication for the assignments that are to be completed at home. We are excited for you to see what your children are learning about and how you can reinforce the learning concepts at home and out in the real-world.

October 7-8 will be our Family Teacher Conference Days. These days will be EARLY RELEASE days. Please sign up here for conferences with your teachers. This is your chance to learn more about your student, address any questions or concerns you may have, and collaborate with your teacher on how to make your child more successful in school.

We’re gearing up for our Annual International Festival and we want YOU to share your culture with us by contributing a dish or treat for the event. Please sign up here.

Thank you for calling the office and excusing your student when they are sick. We are working hard to keep everyone healthy at school. Please do not send your child if they have had diarrhea, vomiting, or fever within 24 hours. You can view additional information about Utah’s sick policy and procedures here.

We have a new process in place to order pizzas! Thank you for your patience as we navigate ways to make this process more efficient for everyone. Here is the new procedure :

1) Fill the form out for EACH student they are ordering for

2) Order 1 month in advance. We will close off October pizza orders on Sept 28th. Anyone who wants pizza in October needs to get their order form completed and payment submitted by September 28th if they haven't already submitted an order.
