The Mini Maverick Messenger is our monthly PTA newsletter for our wonderful Ogle families filled with upcoming events, fundraisers, photos, volunteer opportunities, & other information from your PTA. You can always find a copy of the newsletter on our PTA website at https://www.ogleelempta.com/.

Our PTA is cooking up something sweet, and we need your help to make it extra special! We're hosting a Cookie Exchange for our amazing staff, and we’re hoping to fill their holiday with a little extra sugar (and a lot of love). Whether you bake like a pro or your cookies come from the store, we welcome them all! Let’s fill the staff room with treats so our staff can sugar up and power through the holiday season. Sweet thanks in advance for making this holiday season a little bit sweeter!

Get ready to celebrate the season! Ogle's Winter Class Parties are happening on Thursday, December 19, at 2:00 PM, and all parents are invited to join the fun! It’s going to be an afternoon filled with laughter, games, and holiday cheer. Be sure to check your grade level’s Facebook page for the party wishlist from the room parents — they’d love your help to make this party extra special. We can’t wait to ring in the holidays together!

Our Ogle staff is so much bigger than our classroom teachers! Did you know Ogle has more support staff than classroom teachers?! This year each class is “adopting” a support staffer! Our hope is that these teachers, custodians, admin, paras, diags, SLPs, specials teachers, cafeteria staff, and MORE feel the love all year long through teaming up with the teachers, students, and families that they serve every day.

Happy Holidays from your Ogle PTA! We hope all of our families have a wonderful Winter Break this month and the opportunity to enjoy time with loved ones.

We love our Ogle Community and how everyone comes together to celebrate and show appreciation! For the month of November our Hospitality Chair, Amber Shoaib, helped organize our Annual Pie Drive for the Ogle Staff. We had pies of all varieties donated by our families!! The drive made it possible for each staff member to take home a pie, including those with dietary restrictions. It was a beautiful setup and everyone was so grateful!

The month of November also brought in donations for our Small World Angels! We are excited to announce that ALL donations for each of the five children were generously donated by our Ogle Families, THANK YOU! We also appreciate the hard work put in to organize this event by our school counselor, Mrs. Green, and our PTA Room Representative, Amy Merritt.

For December, our PTA would like to recognize Amanda Lofton. Amanda is our PTA's Specials and Gifted Education chair. Amanda has made changes with our events and programs so more of our community can be included. Amanda came up with Grandparents night for the kids to be able to have a day at school with their grandparents, and she is currently hoping to incorporate a quiet room so SLC students, or for anyone that wants less of a crowd can attend. Not only that, she brought 15+ pies for the pie drive to make sure that all the teachers were able to take one home. Amanda is such a big helping hand to our community, and has contributed to every event. We are so honored to have Amanda a part of our PTA and are extremely thankful.

Our PTA appreciates every volunteer who assists our community, and as a small thank you we will be announcing a volunteer each month who will be awarded with a special thank you. (To nominate a volunteer please send an email to Michaela Madrigal, our Volunteer Coordinator, at volunteer@ogleelempta.org )

Frisco ISD Board Policy requires that each volunteer undergo a background check before working with students. You will be prompted to complete the background check during your Voly account creation. Keep an eye on your inbox for your background check approval (the process can take up to 3-5 business days.) If you signed up previously, please note that a new background check must be completed each school year as required by Frisco ISD!

1. Work Room Volunteers: Support our teachers by helping with lamination, cutting, sorting, stapling, etc. *All materials provided and younger siblings are welcome to join*

2. Watch D.O.G.S. (any male figure (or female!)): Spend the day on campus volunteering with your student & helping in your child's classroom

3. Mav Money Store Volunteers: Help run the MAV MONEY store during students' lunches.
