Animal Therapy at SCMS
On Friday, September 29th, SCMS Teachers, Mrs. Burton and Mrs. Klink, collaborated on a lesson regarding animal therapy. Mrs. Burton's 7th grade classes read a short story called ‘The Broom Dog’ in regard to how animals can provide emotional support to humans. Thor and Mrs. Klink came into her classes to speak about the three different types of working animals: emotional support, therapy, and service. They also talked about Thor’s therapy dog training and certification process, as well as his role in comforting students and staff at SCMS.
