Week of August 18th
Dear DMIS Families,
We are thrilled to report that the first week of school has been a resounding success! Our students have done a fantastic job settling into their routines, and we were especially impressed with the school spirit shown on our first Spirit Day this Friday. Congratulations to the Green hallway for winning the Spirit Stick with the most student and staff participation. It was a great way to kick off our year of celebrating excellence!
PowerSchool Update
A huge thank you to all the families who have completed their annual verification forms online. We have been hard at work distributing Chromebooks to those who have their forms completed and will continue this process next week. If you are having trouble filling out the forms on PowerSchool, you may call the school for assistance or meet at JHHS from 4:30-6:30pm on Tuesday evening. Please remember that completing these forms is mandatory for your child to receive their Chromebook.
Drop-Off and Pick-Up Procedures
Thank you to everyone who has adjusted to our drop-off and pick-up procedures. Our car loop is moving smoothly, and we appreciate your continued cooperation. Please remember to pull all the way up to the car in front of you, completely fill the loop, and allow students to exit the vehicle around the entirety of the car loop. Your help in ensuring this process remains quick and safe for our students is greatly appreciated.
5 Star Celebrations
We are excited to announce that DMIS will host our first 5 Star event for 5th and 6th grade students on August 30th from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM here at the school. Students will have the opportunity to participate in open gym, dancing, and more. The cost for admission will be $2.00, and students must be in good standing to attend. We look forward to a fun evening with our students!
Schedule Changes
Please be aware that schedule change requests must be made through an administrator. The deadline for these requests is Friday, August 23rd. While we will do our best to accommodate all requests, please understand that some changes may not be possible due to class sizes.
Parent Advisory Meeting
DMIS will host our first Parent Advisory meeting on August 28th from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the school. All parents are welcome to attend. The theme for the evening will be "Helping Your Child Achieve Success at DMIS." We will review our grading policy, attendance, and who to contact based on your needs. We hope to see you there!
Meetings with Staff
Our school staff is here to help you. If you need to speak with someone, please contact the front office or the staff member directly to schedule an appointment. Please note that an appointment is required to meet with staff. We appreciate your understanding as we work to serve all our families effectively.
