Rotary Youth Exchange (New)
What is the Rotary Youth Exchange:
The Rotary Youth Exchange is a short-term exchange. For some of the CHSD 117 students who participated last year, they went abroad and lived with a host family for about 3 weeks. This fall, the host partners came and stayed with the families and came to school for about 3 weeks. The Rotary Youth Exchange has a long-standing relationship with D117 and Rotary is an international organization that does a lot of outreach around the world for various causes, one large cause is bringing polio vaccines to parts of the world that need it.
What do I do if I want to learn more about it?
The best thing to do is to attend the parent meeting on December 9th. Here is a video (2 min long) and attached is an informational flyer.

Create Account Once you have created your account it can take 1- 3 days for your FSA ID to be processed. If you plan to attend Saturday’s FAFSA Completion Workshop it is best to try and create your account as soon as possible.

Stopping when bus arm/stop sign is out
Parents and students,
It is the expectation that when a school bus stop sign is out and students are present, that all traffic stop and wait for the stop sign to retract. The bus company has reported vehicles disregarding the stop signs and continuing to drive through. Please have the conversation with your student about stopping.
Please contact Durham at 847-838-5198 or Curt Onstad at 847-838-7623.
Attendance and Discipline Committee
The dean's office is looking for a few parents/community members to participate in the D117 Attendance and Discipline Committee. We will meet several times in the next several months to discuss the Student handbook and try to improve the student high school experience. If you are interested, please contact the dean's office at lchsdeans@chsd117.org.
