Dear St. Bernard Parents,

Happy Thanksgiving! It’s hard to believe that Thanksgiving Break has already arrived. We are all excited to have this time to spend with family and loved ones, and to reflect on the many things for which we are thankful.

As we come back from Thanksgiving Break it will be a quick turnaround as we begin Advent and have just 3 weeks together before Christmas Break. Our in-school focus will be on preparing the way of the Lord in our hearts - especially as we have our annual Advent Retreat with students on Wednesday, December 4 following Mass. On the evening of the 4th we will host our annual Kindergarten Open House and 1-8 Information Night. If you know families that would be great additions to the St. Bernard School Community invite them to our Info Night! Since our significant growth last year we can’t accept as many new students, but we will have some spaces available. Help us make our Information Night another great success by promoting it in your circles.

Dear St. Bernard Families,

At this year's school Advent retreat, students will be assembling "blessing bags" with their buddies.

These bags will contain needed items for the homeless like mini water bottles, granola bars, meat sticks, socks, gloves, etc. Students will also be including a holy card in the bags.

We need help collecting enough materials to reach our goal of assembling 193 blessing bags- one for each student to take home and distribute over the Advent and Christmas seasons.

The idea is that you keep these blessing bags in your family car, and when you are at a red light or an exit off the highway and notice a person asking for help, you are able to provide for the physical and spiritual needs of that person in need.

Please follow this link to the signup genius and sign up for as much or as little as you can! Students should bring the donations to school on 12/2 and 12/3 so they can be assembled on 12/4.

The more supplies we receive, the more blessing bags we can make, and the more of our brothers and sisters in Christ can be helped.

We need help facilitating the distribution of lunches for the students. On normal days, we need one extra adult per day to help our staff. On pizza lunch days, we need three adults to help distribute the meals. Thank you in advance for any help you can offer!!!

Children’s Liturgy of the Word

All children ages 5-9 are invited to pray and learn together at the Children’s Liturgy of

the Word on Sunday’s during 10:30 AM Mass at St. Bernard’s.

Dear Bobcat Parents,

Our school has 175 scholarships awarded for the 2024-25 school year. There are two important steps that I need parents to complete in order for the school to receive scholarship funds to cover tuition costs:

1. For each awarded EdChoice scholarship, I must have an Acceptance Form signed and turned in at the office. Nearly everyone has signed and returned them. If you have not already, please contact me in the school office. Thank you!
2. Please follow the LINK to authorize St. Bernard School to deposit funds from the scholarship checks to pay for tuition. The Ohio Department of Education issues scholarship checks on a monthly basis which require this permission to be deposited. Please take care of this immediately if you have not already. Again, most of you took care of this. Thank you!

Due to the high volume of recruiting and admissions events that we receive information for, I'm opting to include links to all of the area Catholic high schools that have either shared information for the newsletter or one or more families have expressed interest in.

8th Grade Parents: Attached is the Archdiocese of Cincinnati Release of Records Authorization Form for high school applicants. I can provide you with paper copies in the office.

Please make sure you are registering your 8th grader for the High School Placement Test and completing all application requirements as prescribed by the high schools. St. Bernard records will be sent according to your forms following the Trimester 1 report cards. I usually send records while Parent/Teacher Conferences are being held on the week of Thanksgiving.

Mrs. Yoder shared a list of adults that are behind on Safe Parish requirements. Please make sure you are keeping your account current so that you are able to coach and volunteer around the parish and at school. Anyone not up-to-date will not be allowed to be in contact with children. Thank you for your diligence!

Blue folders will go home with the OLDEST student in each family on Wednesdays, as needed, throughout the school year. These will contain any important handouts or forms that need to be submitted in paper form. Anytime we can share documents in a digital format to provide information or link you to online resources, we will do so instead of filling your home with papers.
