Shiloh ES has an amazing November with our students, staff, and community. Students created crystals, 5th-graders are building rockets in STEM, Student Peer Leaders attended a Peer Leader conference, and so much more! Staff continue their professional learning with early literacy, participate in learning walks in other classrooms, and engage in conversation about our students’ needs. They are rock stars! Community members joined us for International Night, PTO Bingo Night, and our Thanksgiving Day Luncheon.

Thank you for reinforcing our school motto:

Strong Minds, Strong Hearts, Strong Community!

In December, be on the lookout for information about our Spelling Bee and the GA School Climate Survey. With any survey, we strive for as many families to participate, as possible. This survey will open on December 5th. Be on the lookout for more information.

Housekeeping and Reminders:

As we enter into December, we are reviewing absences and tardies.

Attendance: More than 5 absences will prompt a letter. At 10 absences, expect a phone call from the school. When your child is absent one day, he/she comes back confused and behind. Our teachers work hard to catch them up; however, excessive absences negatively impacts your student’s success in school.

Tardies: We are also monitoring tardies. Excessive tardies create a chaotic and rushed morning for your student. They often do not have time for breakfast, they miss our news show, lose valuable learning time, and miss the opportunity to get organized for the day. Students who arrive on the bus, for example, have an average of 8 minutes to eat, engage with their peers and teacher, and get organized before the news show begins. Therefore, we recommend a student arrive by 8:00 am.

Finally, let me take this moment to say how thankful I am for your engagement and support! We are Shiloh Strong!

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving Break!
