THE LION'S DEN
March 2025 Edition
"Oh, the Fun We'll Have in March!"
Dear Shady Hills Elementary Families,
March is here, and we’re kicking it off with a celebration of imagination, creativity, and the joy of reading, Dr. Seuss’s birthday! His timeless stories have inspired generations of readers, reminding us that “the more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go!”
At Shady Hills Elementary, we’re excited to honor Read Across America Week with fun literacy activities, special reading events, and plenty of Seuss-inspired fun. This month, we encourage our students to dive into books, explore new adventures through reading, and let their imaginations soar.
Be sure to check out this newsletter for important dates, school updates, and all the exciting happenings around campus. Let’s make March a month filled with learning and laughter!
Happy Reading!

Car Line/Dismissal Reminders
Friendly Reminder: Our early bell is at 9:20 am and our late bell is at 9:40 am.
We care about the safety of our students, and in order to maintain this, parents must abide by the car line rules. If your child is a car rider, please be sure to have them remain in the vehicle until the first bell, which rings at 9:20 am and staff members are present. STUDENTS ARE NOT TO BE DROPPED OFF ANYWHERE OTHER THAN THE CAR LOOP.
Please make sure all transportation changes are submitted by 3:15 pm on the day of the change. The cutoff time for dismissal is at 3:15 pm. While emergencies do arise, it is important to have submitted these changes in a timely manner to avoid confusion.
Thank you for your attention and cooperation in this matter.
