Thank You!
We are deeply grateful to the Salt Creek District 48 community for their overwhelming support of our referendum question on the November 5, 2024 ballot. Your commitment to our schools empowers us to make transformative changes that will benefit our students today and for generations to come. Thank you for investing in our shared future!
Illinois Report Card
We are thrilled to share Albright's detailed assessment results from the 2023-24 Illinois School Report Card released last week. The linked document shows all of the great news, including that we have reached our highest achievement in Math, Science, and English Language Arts since testing began six years ago. We also are extremely close to being rated in the top 10% of schools in Illinois. Our students and staff have worked extremely hard to reach these goals, and we are proud to share this with you all! Please review our results here: https://5il.co/30hpw
Picture Retakes
Picture retakes are scheduled for November 14th! More information will be sent home as the date approaches. Please mark your calendars!
If you are taking a retake. Please bring the photos with you to return to HR Imaging on the day of the retakes. They will give you the retakes with the same package and layouts.

Community Events
Community Engagement Series
Salt Creek District 48 will be hosting a community engagment series in which we use Jonathan Haidt's book, The Anxious Generation, as a guide for conversation around how we can best support today's youth. About his book, Haidt states, "My central claim in this book is that these two trends--overprotection in the real world and under-protection in the virtual world--are the major reasons why children born after 1995 became the anxious generation."

Sports physicals are required for any students who would like to participate in school-sponsored sport activities. They are only good for one calendar year. If you are not sure if you child needs a new one please reach out to the school nurse Mrs. Simmons.
Increase in Pertussis Cases
There has been an increase in Pertussis, (also known as whooping cough) nationally and locally. Pertussis is a very serious respiratory infection. Symptoms occur in three stages and typically appear 4 to 21 days after exposure. Stage 1: cold symptoms (runny nose, sneezing, mild fever, and cough) Stage 2: uncontrolled coughing followed by a whooping noise when breathing in air. This stage may last several weeks. Stage 3: Cough slowly disappears over several weeks. Pertussis requires antibiotic treatment. Please contact your healthcare provider should you or your child experience any of these symptoms. The best prevention is vaccination. Cases of Pertussis should be reported to your school's health office. Please see links below for more information.
