💚Message from our Principal, Mrs. Britton💜
As we approach the final week of the school year, we are filled with excitement as we reflect on the wonderful events and celebrations that filled our days. Last Saturday, our community united for the annual "Run the Lane" event, with over 400 participants enjoying the beautiful weather while supporting a meaningful cause. Throughout the week, different grade levels hosted their own end-of-year parties, contributing to the festive atmosphere as we near the conclusion of another successful school year.
A big day was our inaugural "Around the World" morning event, where each student had the opportunity to travel to two different locations and learn from 13 parents and grandparents who shared captivating insights into their diverse backgrounds. Participants showcased their heritage from places like the United Kingdom, Canada, India, Puerto Rico, China, Italy, Vietnam, Germany, Scotland, Indonesia, and Serbia. Each presenter provided unique perspectives, enriching our students' understanding of global cultures and traditions. From the historic landmarks of Italy to the vibrant customs of India, our students gained valuable insights into the rich tapestry of our world. These firsthand accounts sparked curiosity and fostered appreciation for diversity, embodying the spirit of global citizenship within our school community.
In addition to these enriching experiences, our 3rd graders embarked on an exciting trip to the Franklin Institute, immersing themselves in hands-on learning and exploration. Then, on Thursday, we gathered as a school to applaud and honor the Penncrest Seniors as they prepared to graduate!
This week holds more excitement as we eagerly anticipate the unveiling of the yearbook cover at the 5th Grade Recognition Ceremony. We encourage you to review this week's bulletin for important updates about school supplies, the 5th Grade Clap Out, and more. Please be on the lookout this week, students in grades K-4 will receive their Summer Packets & Yearbooks!

The 5th Grade Clap Out- June 12th!
Parents planning to join us for the annual 5th Grade "Clap Out" on Wednesday may arrive as early as 11:15 AM to start parking and lining up on the playground. The procession will begin indoors around 11:40 AM. During this time, 5th-grade students will loop through every hallway, passing each classroom, staff member, and younger Bobcats. 5th-grade students will then exit the building and circle the blacktop near the playground, bidding farewell to their families. There will be time for some photo opportunities on the playground during this time. We aim to make this a memorable send-off for the Indian Lane Class of 2024.
Students will then return to their classes and be dismissed at the normal time. Please note, we are not dismissing children directly during the "Clap Out." All students will return to their classrooms and will be dismissed at the normal time. If you are a 5th-grade parent/guardian and plan to pick up your child from the blacktop, they will be dismissed through the walker doors at 12:20. If you are choosing this option for your child and/or their siblings, please complete the Google form. This Google form is for 5th-grade families only.
*Please note the correction in dismissal time for the last day of school on the district calendar: AM Kindergarten will dismiss at 12:00 PM, and Grades 1-5 will dismiss at 12:20 PM.
